And maybe I get irrationally angry when people refer to Kara as being like a sister to Clark. Maybe I miss Mae. Maybe I want the acknowledgement that not all platonic relationships have to be either sibling like or parental. Maybe I miss Mae. Maybe I think it’s reducing Kara’s character from an individual into solely Clark’s family. Maybe I miss Mae. Maybe I dislike the “accidental” spread of incorrect family dynamics. Maybe I miss Mae

Mae blinks, slowly. Tries to remember why she's here. Where here even . . . is . . .

The sun is so bright, she thinks, and it feels like nothing she's ever felt before. It feels like reality, like necessity, like the only thing in the world.

She's a few thousand feet in the air before she comes back to herself enough to stop flying upwards, but doesn't want to even then. Doesn't want anything but this.

It's so warm.

Does the sun always feel like this?

No.

Yes.

. . . no?

Mae blinks, slowly. Stares up at the sun, and feels it.

It's never felt like this, but this is exactly how it always feels.

saw some ppl talking about the superfam, so here’s some quick doodles. If there ever is another Superman show, they better put all of them in, no matter how messy it gets. These aren’t all of them, so maybe I’ll do more later.
