Daniela Castro definitely wasn’t the person Al wanted to find himself lined up for an elevator with, but those were apparently the cards the world was dealing him. It would be okay, though - you weren’t supposed to talk to others in elevators, and since he was just going to the fourth floor, it would be quick and painless. But the elevator thought that was too easy, apparently; it halted to a stop between the third and fourth floor.  Al broke the silence, his tone of pure disbelief: “You’re fucking joking.”

💤 for Reina

He had decided to leave the backdoor unlocked in case Reina wanted to make herself in at anytime; nobody would even approach to “The Coltraine Manor” as they liked to call it, so it wasn’t much of a trouble even in such a bad neighborhood like his. Unlike any other times, he wasn’t watching a horror movie, he was watching Disney’s Fantasia when he heard the backdoor open. When the canaries didn’t start flying around he guessed it had to be his best friend. “I’m in the living room!”, he called out loud to guide her as he continued watching the movie.

Rei’s particular perfume quickly reached him and he drew a smile on his face, turning away from the television to greet her with a kiss on her cheek, something that he did every time as a friendly gesture. “Tough day?”, he asked as soon as she made herself comfortable on the couch next to him without saying much. “I’ll take that as a yes. Would you like me to--- oh--- okay”, his words were interrupted by her quickly curling herself against on him; at least she was small, that way he could wrap his arms around her easily and kiss the top of her head. More than once he had asked himself if maybe he was more affectionate than best friends should be, but she had never complained against it and he liked to show her how much he cared for her, so he kept on doing it. Zach reached for the remote to lower the volume a bit and he leaned his head on hers to continue watching the movie as his fingers traced invisible lines on her shoulder. “Rei, do you have a boyfriend? I think I have never asked and now that I think about it, maybe he wouldn’t like to find you like this with me. Oh, although if you had one you probably would be with him instead of me, unless-- “, and he gasps, “---unless he is treating you bad!”. Zach quickly looks down at his friend, but she’s already asleep and he feels bad for talking out loud. “Guess I’ll have to ask when you wake up. Rest well, Rei-Rei”.
