HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN HERE FOR???
Detox Camp End
So that was interesting. Tech starved teens forced to live here to learn to be without tech, only to be tempted by tech and thus trapped in the cycle of abuse and stuck there forever.
Basically this rehab program is terrible, wouldn’t/shouldn’t fly in real life, so either this a “Something Serious Lurks Beneath” trope, or more of a “eh, suspend your disbelief and just accept that this is a thing.”
I guess Daisy is a cannabal now. Weird flex but it is probably worse than what the rumors say. Or maybe she really does like humans. Anything goes at the Lord of the Flies Winter Vacation!
On my Fibonacci Scale of 1 to 21: I’ll give this a 5. There’s...nothing inherently bad with it. The first chapter does well to set up the character, mystery, setting, struggles. It has a bit of self-fulfillment escapist fantasy to it too, like what would you do in a place with no tech and no rules? It’s decent enough but I just feel “meh” over all.
Isolation isn’t doing these kids any favors.
Oh Ho Hooooo. This is reminding me of that one Goosebumps book where the lost class in black&white world are split into the 5 that stay in the school house, and the rest who just went insane in the black goo.
Basically, I like this divide.
Damn nature, that’s just....ice cold.
It was then that Kiro realizes that there is no real authority. Every POW for themselves.
Alaska explains the seals, but I do hope there are selkies in this story. I just really like selkies.
K...I can handle the disheveled and busted up camp grounds. But there is something very unsettling bout her stare. It’s creeping me out.
