I got so attached to Dick and Kory in this universe, and it’s sad to not see their story together go further.
This is for my DickKory shippers. I just realize how in the new 52 Red Hood and the Outlaws comic they made Kory have amnesia for whatever reason, and she couldn’t remember anyone before she met Jason like the Titans and Dick and the significance of those relationships. Now currently in the comics Dick has amnesia, and I’m referring to the very beginning before he started remembering stuff. He couldn’t remember all the significant events and people in his life. I don’t know if you would call these parallels or not, but I thought this was interesting to point out.
I just realized that I’m blocked by nightglider124 blocked me. Hm it’s a shame because she’s a really talented writer and I enjoy her Dickkory work. I already know my reason for being blocked, and I all I have to say is that not everyone is going to like my opinions 🤷🏽♀️
I don’t talk about what’s discussed on discord on here, but I’m just annoyed that I was in an argument with someone in the fandom we’re both in! I’m more annoyed that it was dragged out through TWO channels. Now everyone has to see all of that 🤦🏽♀️
Never thought there would be a day I would dislike someone who’s in the same fandom as me! However, if she gonna stay in the server I’ll just ignore her 🤷🏽♀️
I’m ready to create fics again. I miss it so much, so this weekend I’m taking a break from everything and getting back into my craft 😌
My Writing Advice
As a fellow fanfic writer I thought I could help someone out with some advice, whether you’re a newbie or an old timer, I hope it helps.
If you’re a newbie, just remember your first piece will not be your best, and that’s okay. Don’t feel discourage, just keep writing because that’s how you get better.
Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Meaning don’t throw yourself into a large project if you can’t finish it or it becomes a burden to you. Pace yourself and start off small and gradually work your way up.
This one may or may not contradict the last bullet but take risks. If you want to write something that’s out of the norm for you, then do it. Just make sure it’s on your terms and your terms only.
With that being said, let no one pressure you into writing something that makes you feel uncomfortable. And if someone gives you shit for it tell them to fuck off and write their own shit.
Haters are like cockroaches. No one likes them, they come unannounced and hard to get rid of and an inconvenience, but just like roaches, they’ll die eventually. (Not actual death because I don’t wish that on anyone.) If you get hate, then that means your writing must be great if they take the time to read it and comment how shitty it is. Keep writing because it pisses them off because haters are just bitter people who wish they had the talent you withhold.
Writer’s block is your biggest enemy. Such an inconvenience but don’t fret. Just remember to take a break if you need to and come back to your work when you feel inspired again.
It’s okay to be inspired by your someones’ work and you want to incorporate that in your writing. Just remember to credit them and Don't and I mean Don't steal someone else’s work because that’s so shitty and makes you unoriginal.
There will always be someone who’s a better writer than you. Sounds harsh, but it’s true. It doesn’t make you a bad writer though, so if you compare your writing to someone else’s just remember that you’re good in your own way.
Welcome criticism with open arms. It’s always good to keep an open mind to advice from others because it’ll help you in the long run.
If you’re not sure about how a character’s characterization you can ask someone who does or find comics and make your own conclusion about said character.
Remember to just have fun with it and find joy in your writing because when you like what you wrote others will too.
