yesterday’s gif didn’t work but i hope these do. DC4 flapped around for a while making squeaking sounds, the mother was like “welcome to your second day on earth, ok here’s some breakfast.” there’s a catfish just out of frame that the family’s been snacking on for 26 hours now ... delicious. i’m sure it smells so great in that nest rn. as seen in the first gif, the baby couldn’t figure out how to eat. too tiring! it flopped over and fell asleep instead. mom just ate the snack herself and settled in to brood.

meanwhile DC5 has finally cracked - it’ll be hatched by saturday morning at the latest and i’m excited to meet it!
