You look a little tired,  let’s go do SOMETHING, I’ll do anything to see you smile again. ❞  School was out for the day anyway & Yuki didn’t really have anything going on, did he ? Likely council meeting stuff but the urge to PULL him away from such infuriating tasks.  Yet, he fought it because he knew things like that were intentionally IMPORTANT to Yuki & not doing them or being part of something as important as a meeting, would set him off & likely add to such stress. SOMETHING in which wasn’t needed --- something  Haru wanted to avoid.   Giving the other’s fabric of the shirt the simplest soft tug,  he awaited the other’s words patiently while staring. Blinking heavily as if too give off a puppy dog eyes of his own. / @dcmnrat

   “ WAIT, Yuki-kun!” Tohru exclaimed, rushing to the young man’s side, Tohru handed him a pair of oven mitts in a rather clumsy yet precise fashion. Today Tohru had plans to bake a special treat for the Sohma household as a means of saying thank you, but despite her best efforts to keep it a secret Yuki had been the first one to find out and thus became her secret helper despite her own protests at first. “If you’re going to check on the cakes, please use these or else you’ll burn your hand!”

Hatsuharu grit his teeth, the sharp sting of the alcohol making the dull pain of his hand momentarily worse. Fighting the urge to curl his hand into a fist against the pain, he held his hand still, allowing Yuki to work putting the bandages on.

“Thanks, Yuki…you really didn’t have to do this.”

           there was no way to handle something like this without his own heart breaking. years and years of seeing the lasting mental scars of solitary confinement, trauma, and the reminder that escape is impossible have done their best to harden him as a person. standing as that support system when he could and worrying at all hours of the day was the best he was able to put forward. yuki needed someone to take his side. not many people would given his ‘ status ‘ within the family and the title of ‘ favorite ‘ hanging over his head— but that meant nothing to the ox. he was just— yuki. 

        ❝ so this is where you went. ❞ he hadn’t gone far, just to the student council room. it was otherwise empty until classes ended for the day— a perfect place to escape. ❝ i heard a few upperclassmen whispering about you. they were all worried. said you were staring out the window in a daze and then suddenly took off. ❞

           when he finally managed to take a seat besides his elder, he noticed. streaks of tears twinkled along his cheeks. he’d been crying. ❝ —and when i heard that, i got worried. ❞ he’s cautious with his movement, gentle wiping at the other’s cheeks with the pad of his thumb, ensuring as little physical contact as possible, just in case. ❝ you know... you’re safe here if i’m here... i promise. ❞

✧ ┈┈ archery was something she was good at.

kagome felt strong when she held a bow in her hands,  hand wrapped around the slender wood of the bow.  the tips of her fingers pulling the arrow back, string taut and vibrating with potential.

the way the entire world focused on one point that she chose, and how she was able to calm her breathing narrow everything down to just one thing. she released it, the arrow striking through.

the dark - haired girl turned around, smiling at her partner. the silver - haired boy had already been there, but she felt like she’d needed to prove something.  after all, she’d needed to prove it to everyone else. what was one more person ? 

“ well ? what’d you think ? “
