The 2027 round of the Dean/Cas Pinefest is officially open for registration!

Now entering its eleventh year, the DCPF is an annual big-bang style challenge for authors & artists in the Destiel corner of SPN fandom.

Since 2016, this little community has come together to share a staggering 11.6 million words of Destiel fic, and close to a thousand accompanying works of art. It’s truly a joy to see what everyone creates every year, and we can’t wait for this next round to begin!

Registration will remain open from now until October 25th for authors, with fic drafts & claims information due by November 29th.

Artists may continue to sign up until November 29th, and will have several days to peruse all available fics ahead of anonymous claims on December 6th.

After claims, author/artist teams will have roughly three months to complete their fics and artwork before posting commences on pi(e) day – March 14, 2027!

I was lucky enough to be paired with incredibly talented LoversAntiquities who inspired me to draw destiel in noir aesthetics, which I’ve been thinking about for a long time.

So, I finally got to participate in Pinefest! I just had to join as an artist to do so! 😅😅😅 That being said, I got the awesome opportunity to do the art for @thisisapaige‘s fic Lavender Pines. It appealed to me because I love the fake dating trope, especially when it’s not Dean and Cas doing the fake dating. Love watching those boys go “Oh.” You definitely need to go check it out, it’s absolutely wonderful, and I know you all will love it. Link to the Fic

Art Masterpost for this year’s @deancaspinefest: The End of the World as We Know It by Tiamatv

This fic is so incredibly good, and I’m so honored to have done the art for it. If I’d had more time, I would have done about a thousand more pieces because the imagery and emotion in this fic are so freaking compelling.

I highly recommend checking out the fic and binging it to the expense of your daily life.

Here is my art for the Dean/Cas Pinfest 2019 fic Lightning in a Bottle, written by the lovely Bumocusal! This was my second fic for this particular challenge, and I wasn’t originally going to do a second one, but I finished the art for my first fic early. I then got the notice that pinch hitters were needed for two stories and decided to jump in and help as I had the extra time. I’m glad I did because the story was good and I particularly love Dean and Cas’ first meeting. Bumocusal has been great to work with, even with Google trying to sabotage everything and hiding my emails lol I have to say that I have really enjoyed seeing the story evolve from the first version to the most recent, and I think many of you will enjoy it so do please give it a read! Drowning in grief after losing Cas to the Empty, a hunt leads Dean to a well-meaning but reckless young witch who has created an ‘umboð’ — a supernaturally animated effigy that takes on the form and memories of a person who has recently passed. Though he and Sam convince the witch to nullify the spell that she’s woven, Dean finds himself weak against the temptation of using the same magic to see Cas one last time. But when the umboð he creates takes its first breath, opening familiar blue eyes that lock with Dean’s just as earnestly as those he’s missed, Dean can’t bring himself to end it after just one conversation. Meanwhile, newly rescued from the Empty, Castiel works to rebuild the afterlife with Jack. But the work of divine creation is draining him in ways he did not expect, and leaving him to question whether he made the right choice in returning to Heaven despite his heart pulling him back to Earth.
