The shimmering lights of Coruscant’s main district looked like constellations in their own right, always have. Cody remembered seeing them for the first time, how he had silently swallowed his awe like all the other Commanders ready to take on their first assignments. Now the image of this mighty metropolis was burned into his memory like a guised falsehood, always on the precipice of grandeur and collapse. Always beautiful and horrible at the same time.
As they approached the main Republic Center closely connected to their main operations, their gunship shuddered, and Cody turned toward Obi-Wan- snapped out of a long, quiet yet comfortable silence. Only a glance instructed his sergeants to prepare their offloading, the automatic doors parting with an electric hiss to compensate for the decompression. He took the first few steps out into the hangar and turned, lifting his head to meet Obi-Wan’s gaze through the visor of his bucket.
“Are you sure you won’t join the other Commanders and myself at 79′s, General? I’m not sure if you found the invitation inappropriate or not, but they sounded intrigued to know you indulged Ghost from time to time.”
