Gen Asagiri Relationship Headcanons

Summary: Relationship Headcanons for our lovely boy Gen!

Pairings: Gen Asagiri x f!reader

Warnings/tags: Slight angst but it’s mostly fluffy and romantic.

A/N: I started jotting down some headcanons to help me with his character for a fic I started working on but… I think I got carried away lmao. NSFW headcanons will be posted soon!

He may be a mentalist, but I feel like he’d struggle in determining if someone actually, genuinely, liked him. His parents never had a good relationship, so he was used to being around people that used each other for personal gains. After all, that’s how the world works, right? So if you fell in love with him before the world turned to stone, you’d have a much harder time conveying/ getting through to him than after the world turned to stone. Not saying that it’s impossible, but prepare for some angst/ heartbreak before you get it through his thick skull.

He’s not used to real relationships. He’s used to one night stands, flings, using others to get higher up in the world, having others try to use him for the same thing, etc. So these feelings scare him at first. It would take a while for him to get used to liking you, and even longer for him to admit it. If he’s ever tried to manipulate you, he’ll start to regret it immensely, and any further manipulation tactics are thrown out the window. He could never do that to someone he truly likes, especially if he’s certain that they like him back. Though, he will tease you to no end in an attempt to see you flustered. He just loves seeing your face turn bright pink.

When he finally gets the courage to confess, he’s terrified that you won’t believe him. He may have the title of mentalist, but he also has the title of liar. He may have grown a lot as a person since he was revived, but somehow his reputation managed to follow him 3,000+ years later. Of course, his teasing also didn’t do him any favors. He’ll do everything he can while avoiding his manipulation tactics to show you he truly does care for you.

Gen’s the type to confess to you either one of two ways: with flowers (using his knowledge of Hanakotoba, the Japanese language of flowers) or with a magic trick that’s special for the occasion. Honestly, it would be super cute either way, and he’d give it all his best effort. Each stem plucked with a purpose, or a trick made with careful and practiced precision. Unless something tragic were to happen to you, then he’d probably confess a lot sooner for his fear of losing you before he could confess would eat away at him.

As a mentalist, Gen knows how empty words can be, so I believe his main love language would be physical touch. A hand on your shoulder when he stands next to you, a surprise hug as a way of greeting you, his hand intertwined with yours as you both look out upon the endless sea, etc. All of this followed along with quality time, because there’s no one else he’d rather waste time with than you. Sprinkle in a bit of gift giving and you have it! That’s not to say he won’t express his feelings with words, the man can’t shut up. He prefers receiving words of affirmation, though, because he can always tell that you mean them every time you say them. There’s always a spark in your eyes when you look at him, pull him close, and tell him you love him before pulling him down for a kiss.

Promises you that you’ll never have doubts on his feelings for you, and spends every second of everyday acting upon it and professing his love for you. He’ll pour his heart and soul out to you if it meant he’d still have you in his arms.

Pet names consist of dear, love, and flower, but he prefers to call you by your name the most, or his angel. He’ll constantly tell you that he loves you, though, as well as telling you that you look gorgeous or lovely that day. Please give him a pet name of your own, he’ll be so happy every time you call him by it!

He’s into PDA, loves just holding your hand or sneaking up behind you to startle you with hugs. You’ll also get the occasional chaste kiss with him in public, but he prefers to leave the kisses for when you’re in private. He’s the type to get carried away while kissing you, and the next thing you know he’s trailing teasing kisses along your neck, down your collar bone, etc. If you’re not into PDA, he’ll respect your decision, but expect a much more pouty and clingy Gen when in private!

Total cuddler, even if it’s hot outside. Absolutely melts when you wrap your arms around him and pull him closer. Prefers to be the little spoon and facing you, with his head tucked under your chin, but he also doesn’t mind being the big spoon for you, and tucking you under his chin instead. As long as he has you in his arms, he’s happy.

The first time you fell asleep while he was talking to you, resting your head on his shoulder while he was in the middle of a story surprised him. You weren’t even together yet, and yet you trusted him enough to relax around him, whether it was intentional or not. He was surprised you trusted him that much, and tried his best to stay still until you woke up. He teased you to no end about it the next day, though. 

Three in the morning, delirious, sleepy conversations are his favorite. He’ll tuck you in and kiss your cheek if you’re the one who falls asleep first. 

Finds it hard to fall asleep whenever you’re not around. After having you there and being able to hold you, he feels lonely when you’re no longer there at night. At least during the day he could distract himself with helping out or talking to others, but now that he’s alone the full weight of your missing presence comes to haunt him.

If he ever has a nightmare, you’re the one and only person he’ll go to. You’re the only one who will get to see him cry over things he finds small and trivial, besides occasionally Senku.

If something were to happen to you, such as you getting shot right in front of him, it would take him a little while to recover. He’d be good at masking his feelings and would stay strong for your sake, but he’d break down in private. Once you’re all healed he gets immensely better, but he’ll still have the occasional nightmare about the incident and wake up crying. He’ll feel bad if he manages to wake you up, too, but as soon as you pull him in tight and reassure him everything’s okay, he’ll sleep soundly for the rest of the night, keeping you tangled up with him.

He honestly doesn’t know what he’d do without you, so he’ll try his best to keep you safe at all times. Sometimes wishes he was stronger if it meant he could protect you better.

At first, he’s not the best when it comes to comforting you once you’re in a relationship, especially if you’re upset at him. That being said, he knows you well, and as someone who’s studied psychology, he knows exactly what to do or how to come to a compromise. It’s more of an “easier said than done” situation though, because he fears he’ll make another mistake and upset you further. If you’re up for it, he’ll do a magic trick to help cheer you up or share a cola with you. After comforting you once, though, he’s a lot more confident in his skills and will immediately have you feeling better in a matter of minutes the next time. 

He’s easy to open up to. Any trauma from your past? Had a bad day? He’s already there, wrapping his coat or a blanket around you and pulling you close, placing a cup of tea in your hands as you tell him all about what's bothering you.

You could tell him anything, rant to him for hours upon hours, and he’d listen—actually listen—to every single word that comes from your mouth. If you want advice, he’s the best person to go to and he’s more than willing to help you out. But if you just need someone to listen to you while you vent, he’s there for that as well. Go ahead, yap to him all you like, he’s listening to every word like it’s scripture.

Gen enjoys taking walks with you. He lives for the moments where it’s just you and him, walking through the forest to go watch the sun set near the hot springs, or basking in each other's company in a field of flowers. He thrives in the nights where you’re alone, left counting the stars and talking about nothing. If he ever saw a shooting star, he’d make a wish to always be with you.

He thinks about you each time he’s turned to stone. He isn’t really a believer in god, but he prays each time that he’ll be able to find your body and revive you. He’s deathly afraid of losing you, and those feelings are foreign for him. 

Is very familiar with Hanakotoba and Floriography (Japanese and Western language of flowers), though he prefers Hanakotoba the most. He’ll teach you them both if you ask, and you’ll get more flowers as an added bonus to his lessons.

Every now and then he’ll surprise you by tucking a flower behind your ear. He’ll be ecstatic if you ever return the favor. 

He’ll also teach you a few magic tricks if you’d like to learn some. Not all of them, of course! What else would he have left to impress you with if he taught you them all?

If you’re up for it, he’ll let you join him and help him out with his magic tricks. He’d love for you to be in the spotlight with him, especially if it’s helping to boost the morale in the stone world. If you’d prefer to dance or sing, then he’s following right along behind you and joining in as well. 

So greedy, he wants your eyes on him all of the time. Absolute puppy behavior just to have your attention on him. Probably a little touch starved, if I’m being honest. He’ll also follow you around whenever he has nothing to do, trailing behind you like a lovesick puppy.

Loves when you play with his hair, especially if you absentmindedly start running your fingers through it. He finds it so soothing, he’ll practically lean against you and start purring like a cat. He finds that he likes playing with your hair, too.

Also loves when you admire his fingers, or play with them while he’s holding your hand. He’ll turn to absolute putty if you ever massage his hands.

He’ll be so happy if you’re the first one to hug him when you greet him. Bonus points if you try to surprise-hug him like he does with you.

Please tell him that you love him each morning and night, he never gets tired of hearing those words fall from your lips. He’ll also melt like butter if you call him pretty or beautiful.

Not usually a jealous man, but on the occasion that he is, he’s upping the PDA by 300% and basically sticking to you like a koala. 

He can be petty sometimes, but he’s cute when he’s mad. Kiss him and he’ll forget why he was ever mad to begin with.

Is more than willing to use his manipulation techniques to scare off people you don’t like. Someone bothering you? He may not be able to physically do anything about it, but there may be a nasty rumor suddenly going around about them soon.

He’ll complain a lot if you ask him/ need him to do anything that involves manual labor, but because it’s you, he’ll do it. Just expect to hear him complain about it for days afterwards!

If you like Cola, he’ll share his stash with you. Otherwise he’s asking Senku to make your favorite drink so that you two can share drinks together on picnics and breaks.

He’ll give you his coat if it’s cold or raining, no questions asked. As soon as he sees you even slightly shivering or feels a droplet from the sky, his coat goes on you. Besides, he likes seeing you with it on. He’ll let you keep it for a little while, but he’s often distracted if you’re wearing it around him.

He’ll notice if you do anything different with your hair or clothing, and will be the first to compliment you on it, even if it’s something as small as putting your hair up in a ponytail or wearing something new.

For Halloween, if you’re into being spooked and all, he’d mimic your voice to scare you—skinwalker style. He’d also be big into couples costumes, and he’s quite creative with them, too. One year he was dressed in a pink bunny suit while you were a magician. That picture may or may not be on your bedside table.

His favorite holiday is April fools. As a magician, it’s basically a day that’s celebrating him. Plus, it’s his birthday! It makes the day extra special for him. 

He is absolutely the type of person to put at least one of your christmas gifts in a disappearing box or something. Or maybe a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a… you get the idea. He keeps coming up with new ideas each year. 

He’s excited to share his scarf with you when it’s cold out. Christmas means a lot more to him now that he has someone like you around.

Plans a whole magic show and picnic combo for you on valentines/ your anniversaries. He’ll get you a rose for each year you’ve been together, and has a different trick prepared for presenting each one of them. It’s going to be a long magic show once you’ve been together for 20+ years…

Overall, he’s a very sweet and affectionate lover, who cares about you more than anything else in the world.

Dr. Stone Headcanons: As Parents Edition!

Senku: He would most likely adopt, mostly because he doesn't see himself having relations with anyone he would procreate with. He wouldn't be able to handle more than two kids, and he better hope they're into science because he would annoy and bore his kids to death if they aren't. He'd try his best to parent just like his dad; supportive and loving. Senku would take them everywhere, he'd possibly even understand why his dad wouldn't stop talking about him because he wouldn't stop talking about his kids. He'd even talk to his kids about how amazing his dad was. He'd have a smile on his face and teary eyes just mentioning him, but he'd spend hours telling stories to his kids.

Gen: He'd be a very nervous parent at first. Biologically his or adopted, he'd never feel ready when he first held his baby in his hands. He wouldn't feel ready until he learned everything there is to being a father. Gen would be a little overbearing but it's all with love. He'd constantly be afraid that he is coddling his kid too much but he'd try his best. His kid would be so impressed by his little magic tricks and impressions, they'd probably want to grow up to be an entertainer. He'd be hesitant because he knows how stressful the industry can be, but he'd support them. Oh, and you know he is going to tell a lot of cringy dad jokes.

Chrome: Man, he'd be such a dorky dad. The second he would get a hint that his kid(s) would need something, he'd "invent" something only to be told that it was already a thing by the pre-petrification people. He'd also be a little clumsy too. Chrome would even be the kind of dad that would sneak sweets to the kid(s) when the other parent told them they couldn't have any. He'd spoil his kid(s) so much that he wouldn't ever have anything nice to himself because all of his worldly possessions would practically go to them. He'd also want to take them hiking or exploring to learn the lay of the land or find minerals and learn about them.

Tsukasa: Just like how he was for his sister, he would be a provider. He'd make sure that his kids have everything they need. He wouldn't be home a lot, but when he would be, he'd spend every second of their waking hours with them. He'd deeply care for his children. He'd also want to teach them how to care for themselves early on just in case he's not always around. Though he wouldn't be the best at emotionally connecting with his children.

Ukyo: He'd never want to be a parent in the first place, but he'd accept being a dad if it came to it. At first he would be anxious, but his great hearing actually helps him parent better, at least in the infant stages. It'd be like his sixth sense to immediately know what his kid needs and he'd smoothly handle any situation flawlessly. He'd be an excellent problem solver, making sure his kid has everything they need.

Ryusui: Because he'd want to keep the Nanami Corp. legacy going, he'd have multiple children, maybe four. He'd want to have them close in age and make sure they bond. While he wouldn't be so attentive to their basic needs (He has Francois for that), he'd be there for their financial and emotional needs. He'd make sure all of them know how to manage money, upkeep a business, and stay rich. Oh, and of course he would take his kids sailing all the time, as well as indulging in every single of their whims. If they want something, he just has to get it for them because how could he deny any of their desires? His greed would almost definitely extend to his children.

Kohaku: She'd be a little overbearing but only because she had to go through years of trying to heal her sister. She'd also be a provider, but also a pretty scary mama bear. She'd be a strong protector and no one would want to mess with her kids. They'd be strong just like her, with incredible sight too. She'd train them just how she was taught how to fight and make sure that they learn science from the best, Senku. She'd think about the future of her kids and how much the Kingdom of Science has changed her life. She would want everyone in her life to also be a little involved in her kids' lives.

Francois: They could have a kid canonically and we don't know it. We don't even know how old they are. Ryusui barely knows anything about this person. They are a lovely mystery and I'd like to think that they do have a kid or did pre-petrification and somehow the Nanami family just didn't know about it. Francois would somehow find the time and energy out of their exhausting day for their child. Otherwise, I think it'd be near impossible for them to have a kid with their busy schedule.

Ruri: She'd love every second of being a mom. She'd tell them stories every night (tell the 100 tales as tradition eventually), dress them up in matching outfits, and plan to travel the world with them. She would want to make sure that her kids see a lot of their aunt and learn a thing or two from her about how to be tough like her. She'd also want to take raise them around the Five Wise Commanders so that they could learn from them as well.

Yuzuriha: She'd be determined that her children are some sort of artists. She'd make every article of clothing they wear, every blanket they've every slept under, and every pillow they'd lay their heads on. Some her kids first stick figure drawing or finger painting, she'd proudly hang any piece of art up for display. A proud mother she would be if her kids turn out to be artists. She'd want to teach them everything she knows, which is mainly crafty stuff, but crucial to rebuilding society.

Taiju: He would be one of the most proudest fathers in the world. He'd be way too excited to be a dad, hyping up every moment he has with his kids. Their firsts would be like his firsts, no matter how many kids he would have. He'd be very fun to use as a jungle gym by his kids because he would practically be able to carry them anywhere and be climbed on easily. He would never wan to deny giving his kids a piggy back ride if they needed one because he wouldn't want their little legs to ache on a long walk.

Xeno & Stanley: Strict and Laid Back. Not saying which one though, that would be up for interpretation by literally anybody that interacts with these two and their children. (Yes I ship these two, I'll be tagging that)

Sai: He'd want to pass on his hobbies and passions to his children, but he'd never want to make it seem like they had to be a successor of anything. He'd want them to share what he loves, but also feel free enough to follow their own dreams and use their gifts for something that they're comfortable with. He'd feel bad for not hanging out with his brother when they were younger, so he'd make sure his kids have good quality bonding time with each other to maintain a close relationship that he sort of wishes he had always had with Ryusui.

Hear me out chat... What if Reader is like... a mixture of KDJ (Kim Dokja) their self-sacrificing ahh would stress Senku and the rest of the KoS gang so they have to stop Reader from sacrificing their self with every threatening situation- like watch chat:

Tsukasa: "Now... who will you choose, Senku?"

Senku gives in and tells Tsukasa the recipe.

Reader: "Before you start snapping bones. You and I need to talk."

Reader: "You need a medic.. The miracle fluid would be useless if you and your men dies by doing something stupid right?"

"If you kill me now the risk of dying would be greater... Do you dare such a gamble, König?"

"I know for a fact that you'll need me in the future."

Tsukasa: "That is true.. yet you're a threat by simply possessing the knowledge of science."

"But I do have a question.. If you already knew that this would happen.. You must know what I am about to do next, correct?"

Tsukasa: "Will I.. Let go and Kill Senku or not?"

Reader: 'this punk!'

Reader: "I have a few things to say before that. First, you must not harm any child or woman no matter their age. War is still war.

Second, don't kill any of your prisoners.

Third, you better cooperate with us after this stupid war. Me and the Kingdom of Science shall be equal from then on."

Tsukasa: "...I see. So what's your answer?"

Reader: *grins*

Reader: "Let go of me and screw off already Bitch."
