Any Frozen news?

Okay so you might be wondering why there is no new news from the Destination D23 expo about any of the upcoming Frozen projects, especially the third movie.

I too was expecting some kind of announcement - nothing big and grand of course - but I guess the Frozen team wasn't ready to share anything yet because let's not forget that they are technically in early stages of production. We don't know if the cast has the script yet and if they do we don't even have rumours on the new cast or any new hints from interviews. It was announced earlier this year and if it sticks to the 6 year gap between movies and the same month of release too, it would be out in November 2025.

Another reason could be that perhaps they didn't want to give us anything yet is that this event was generally not as big as some other Disney events are generally are such as the D23 Event coming in August next year. Let's not forget that Frozen's 10th anniversary of the first movie and more so the beginning of the franchise, is coming in November 27. It's very likely we'll get something on that very special day.

But though we didn't get anything new for the franchise, we did get something Frozen related. The upcoming short, "Once Upon a Studio", features most of Disney's 2D and 3D animated characters including Elsa, Anna and Olaf. In a showcase in the expo, people had cheers for Elsa and Anna along with Flash the sloth in Zootopia and Gaston from Beauty and the beast. Now that's saying something. Just their appearance on screen is enough to make fans go wild. The short will air in cinemas in front of 'Wish' on November 22 this year. This is coincidentally the same release date as Frozen 2 making it the film's 4th anniversary.

On the decade anniversary it is likely to reveal who the new director of Frozen 3 is. I don't expect the cast reveal yet or maybe it could but more Frozen 3 content is to be expected at the D23 event in August 2024, next year, as the film making progresses development.

So in an update of what Frozen content we have, here's the dates that are important for us:

'Frozen Podcast: Forces of Nature' - October 2023

Frozen's 10th anniversary - November 13 2023

Frozen II's 4th anniversary and 'Once Upon a Studio' short - 22 November 2023

D23 Event - 9 to 11 August 2024

'Frozen III' - November 2025 (assumingly)

I was surprised at the drop after the chip consumption and anticipated period bloat. So grateful for it. The progress has been slow but steady and I’m not feeling any drop in my energy or motivation so far.
