This one is called 'seventeen' for reasons that will become obvious, but it has been living on my hard drive as 'peanutbutterkiss', unseen by other humans, for nearly a decade.
Well, @tinsnip may have seen it. But we always joke that we don't count as 'people' to each other, so it's fine. :P
There are parts missing that I remember being there clear as day, so I must have Imagined Them Particularly Hard or lost them in the files somewhere. If I ever post this part in its proper place in canon, I hope to have either found them or reconciled it. I wrote in a new patch for it for now.

Some Deep Dish Nine (about five years after the fact, but I still love it ❤️🍕)

Detective Odo Ital befriends Weyoun “Six”, the seeming black-sheep son of the Weyoun brood. This sweet young man dreams of going to school to study veterinary medicine--but wants no part in his family’s strictly enforced fealty to the Founders, meaning that he is frequently on the outs with his family. As a result, he is chronically homeless. It seems as if every few months they take him back, tell him everything’s going to be different, that everything’s all better now--and next thing you know, Odo’s cruising the park on patrol at night and finds the kid back out on the streets again. Winter is coming and it gets deadly cold and all this fella has is a worn-out purple knit hat and an oversized old coat he probably found at the thrift store. His existence is caught between wandering the streets, the emergency shelter on 4th and Elm, and haunting Deep Dish Nine to catch glimpses of the unfairly cute Ezri Tigan. He’s 19, the world should be his oyster, but it isn’t.
He’s a sweet kid. Very nice. He doesn’t deserve this. And Odo worries about this kid. Kids like this, living this way? They’re not around for very long. He rounds up this kid in his car and takes him home. His family may not want him, but he does. It’s not a huge home, but Six is just happy to have a roof over his head and a meal every night. Odo decides that he’s going to pay for him to start going to go to community college. There’s not a lot of money, but they make do. They live on mac and cheese and spam and hamburger-with-a-lot-of-helper, but by god, Odo will get him glasses and put him through school because this boy deserves good things. Six smiles whenever Nerys comes around, because he likes her and Odo’s got the doki-dokis for her. He thinks she’ll be a nice mom. He’s still positively smitten over Ezri, but is too afraid to say or do anything to give himself away because he still sees himself as something of a street urchin. Nerys tricks Six into going out on a date with Ezri and they actually hit it off and make a cute little pair. They become thick as thieves, and he tells her that he’s going to marry her when he graduates.
The day that Six gets his diploma from the community college, Odo tells him that’s he’s getting adopted, and that’s that. Six cries, but he has never been happier in his whole life. He ends up getting a full-ride scholarship to University to study Vet Med. He moves away for awhile b/c school, but he writes his new dad and his fiance faithfully every week. He’s a good egg. He gets his DVM and Odo’s so full of pride for both of them. His boy is true to his word and he marries Ezri in the fall. They get their own house, close enough for Odo and Nerys to come visit every day.
A couple of years down the road, Weyoun Sr. shows up at Six’s Vet Clinic, demanding to see him. The conversation basically boils down to:
“Stop this shit, come home already.”
“No. That’s not my home. I have a new one now and it’s always waiting for me.”
“I’m your father, now stop arguing with me and come home.”
“No, you’re not my father. He is, and he’s always been there for me. Who the fuck are you?”
