The scarf was now wound tightly around his neck, refusal to let it out of his sight now evident. He’d done his best to keep a mask of calm on his face, but the moment the other had touched the admittedly ratty scarf, he’d seen red.
He’d already gouged a hole into the wall on Reuben’s side of the room, and was now striding after him at a pace that could nearly be considered running, sword out, spare hand reflexively clenched at the same grinding force that his jaw was.
“Only cowards run,” he called smoothly after him, nearly spitting out the end of each word, trying to maintain his composure despite his anger. He was on a hair trigger though, and the slightest thing could set him off.
Reuben couldn’t run forever. Eventually he’d run out of train.
“I’m pretty certain he’s in his cabin, he usually comes back here after - yes, here he is.” Leroy pushed the door open and leaned against the doorframe, catching his youngest brother in a grin so wide and borderline malicious as he said, “Oh, Stitch. We are just. So proud.”

Mickey cringed as he looked around. There was not a face he knew, not anyone to cling to, or anyone to talk to. He leaned against the wall, next to someone else who was alone. He took on a tone like it was an old friend, "How are you holding up?
