Juventus drops midfielders from Champions League list
Allegri forced to drop Romulo and Asamoah due to their long injuries that will keep them sidelined until April
With the end of the January transfer window, clubs participating in Champions League or Europa League must submit their list of 25 eligible players for that competition. Of these 25, 4 must have been raised in the club listing them, and 4 must be raised in the federation (country) that the listing club belongs to.
Each club is allowed to make three substitutions from the list that was submitted in September for the group phase of the competition.
With this proviso, with the addition of De Ceglie, Sturaro and Matri added over the course of the transfer window that closed on February 2, Allegri dropped the injured Romulo and Asamoah given their long recovery time, and Giovinco who no longer features on Juve’s squad. Here’s the full list:
Goalkeepers: Buffon, Storari, Rubinho
Defenders: Chiellini, Caceres, Ogbonna, Barzagli, De Ceglie, Bonucci, Lichtsteiner, Evra
Midfielders: Pogba, Pepe, Marchisio, Padoin, Pirlo, Vidal, Pereyra, Marrone, Sturaro
Forwards: Morata, Tevez, Coman, Llorente, Matri
