A few years ago I started wet shaving, wanting to try and shave with a brush and shave soap and then I switched to double-edge razors. Recently I came across some vintage razors at some antique shops and decided to clean them up and give them a go. Despite being decades old they shave better than my newer Merkur 1904 DE razor.
So being a photographer always looking for another challenge, I decided to light-paint these small reflective objects to try and make them look as appealing as possible. So far this is my (growing) vintage razor collection. The straight edge was given to me by a longtime friend. It was his grandfather’s and eventually I’ll get it restored and make the jump to straight edge shaving but for now it’s a wonderful addition to my collection.
