Well, Ciril basically got interested in a certain kind of supernatural phenomenon; liminal spaces. In the story I’m working on, those spaces have a certain kind of ability that I’m still in the process of streamlining so I can’t go into that right now, but Ciril first found one as a kid and got obsessed with them ever since
He started exploring the areas around his home as a child, and then dropped out of high school at 17 (much to his parent’s dismay) and used his savings (which he earned from working at McDonald’s) to begin his travels and explore the world to learn more about liminal spaces.
He’s been to all sorts of places around the world and is a well-seasoned traveler. He’s great at living on a budget and used to camp a lot, or crash at the places of people he met along the way instead of renting rooms or such.
He spent a lot of time in America, going from one tiny desolate town to another, sometimes hitching a ride with like-minded people. The long, empty American roads and various abandoned sites in the Nevada desert seemed to be a perfect place to find what he was looking for.
He did a lot of traveling through South America and Europe as well, but hasn’t gone to the South and East as much because of the language barriers, but I can definitely see him going to both Asia and Africa at least once, but I haven’t decided where he went there.
He definitely intended to visit those places at one point, but too much meddling with things he didn’t understand landed him with a fatal curse and he was forced to return back to the safety of his home country (Slovenia), where he plans on staying until he either finds a way to save himself, or die.
