Aaw, unfortunately not :( Mad Baggins is referring to the nickname Bilbo gets later in life. However, in this AU he gets the nickname "Mad Baggins" much earlier, during the Fell Winter, and later becomes the leader of a mercenary/Ranger band of his own, which is named "The Company of Mad Baggins". Thorin hires them to help him take back Erebor, and that makes up pretty much the first half of the plot of the fic. Sorry to disappoint >.<
(After PtBS's accidental Beauty & the Beast parallels, I'm not sure I could handle another crossover quite like that! And if I did write Alice crossover, Bilbo seems the one far more likely to be Alice, what with his going on adventures and falling into holes and being considered odd?)

Oh dear, well, as much as I love turning expectations on their heads, I'm afraid Aziraphale has to be Bilbo. They're both Oxford book-collector types who are gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide, can't dance, and probably enjoy tweed more than is strictly-speaking sane.
Hmm, and I can easily imagine modern Thorin having a really sweet car, though as a dwarf I see him repairing it by hand rather than any sort of demonic magic. And he is darker in appearance, if not so much of a flash bastard as Crowley. Still, I can somewhat see him threatening the house plants and being strangely associated with serpents. Also the image of Thorin getting increasingly crazy with rage as every casette tape morphs into the Best of Queen gives me a special kind of delight and oh god someone who isn't me please write this fic

Less. I like rp more, but generally I find it best if it's like para or multi para format, that's what I enjoy most.

I mean, I don't dislike them. Sometimes I have trouble with it, with how my canon character would actually work around theirs, but I don't mind it.

I get really deep into my favorite character's head. It no longer becomes "I write the character" it's more like "character tells me what to type", and it's a good relationship.
