@Kazumi: Quiet, Kill, Mourn
Sayaka had always figured she'd try to be an understanding person. She'd met dragons, a slender-being that turned out to be pretty nice...but she didn't expect this. Regardless of the knowledge any of her own alternates held of what Kazumi was, she still hadn't had any idea herself of what the girl was. They were finding out now that perhaps it had been best that way. Ignorance was bliss, after all.
"You're...what?" The knowledge was out there now. Kazumi had lost her temper arguing with Sayaka when the subject of why the blunette had let her soul gem cloud over again came up. The explanations from Kazumi obviously had to follow what had happened, exposing the markings on Kazumi's skin to Sayaka's line of view, with also her soul gem exposed, transformed. Sayaka had a hold of the girl's wrist, leaving the gem in her view. How did she respond to this? She'd never even heard of such a thing.
"I'm half witch." Kazumi restated, grimacing. Sayaka grit her teeth, feeling rage bubble up in her stomach. She was partly one of them then? Wasn't that dangerous? How did that even happen? How could anyone even let such a thing happen anyway? "Judging from your reaction...you don't like what you just heard."
"Are you kidding me? You're basically like a witch then. How does that even happen? No, don't answer that, I don't want to know." Sayaka suddenly said, shaking her head. "How is something like you even still allowed to wander around freely?" She asked, jumping to conclusion as she grew irate.
"I ask myself that question sometimes." Kazumi replied, looking off to the side, before loosening her grip on her soul gem, revealing some of it to Sayaka. "YOu really feel that way? Then why don't you just put an end to it?!" She said, emotion finally finding its way back into her voice. "Go on! I can see it in your eyes. You want to, you don't think some kind of monster like me should exist, right?!" Kill her? Could Sayaka do that?
"Shut up..." She frowned, hesitating. "No! I won't shut up." Kazumi continued, pressing on. Did she really wish for her own demise that badly? "Why're you hesitating?! You could just as easily shut me up on your own! Come on--"
"I said stop!" Sayaka shouted, interrupting her. She slammed Kazumi's hand against the wall. She spun a cutlass in her other hand around, hilt up and blade down. With Kazumi's wrist pinned to the wall, Sayaka acted without thinking, slamming her sword's hilt to the soul gem. A crack split the delicate object, before it shattered apart. The pain in Kazumi's fingers only last for a moment before the life left the girl's eyes, and she slumped to the ground, Sayaka letting her wrist go. Staggering backwards, Sayaka's breathing grew shallow, staring at the body as what she'd done truly began to settle in her mind.
"God dammit, Sayaka." The voice cause her to turn. She only caught the briefest glimpse of two people behind her, one of which already swung her hand at Sayaka, striking and knocking her unconscious.
Mourn Me [Kind of an afterwards to the first drabble]
She'd been stupid and reckless. The only reason why Sayaka was alive to regret her previous actions was because of Kyoko and Yuuri. She probably would have lost it after killing Kazumi, but she just remembered a pain in the back of her head, and blacking out afterwards when she caught a glimpse of the two in question. When she'd come to, her soul gem looked perfectly fine and safe, and she was in her bedroom. She sat up slowly, rubbing her head, which pounded faintly from a headache.
She picked up her soul gem and held it in her hands, staring at it as she reflected on what had happened. She'd lost it, anyway. She didn't even give herself a chance to hear Kazumi out, or think it over before she jumped to something. Did that make what she did right? She took Kazumi's life, out of pure spite and cloudy judgement. Sayaka grimaced, a lump in her throat. She killed someone. Not even a full witch. She was still half like Sayaka, wasn't she? Now that didn't matter, because Sayaka had killed her, destroyed her soul gem. Sayaka had done it. She shut her eyes, exhaling slowly as she tried to swallow down the feeling in her throat, to no avail. There was really no redeeming that, was there? No bringing Kazumi back either. "I'm...sorry, Kazumi-san." She whispered, knowing she couldn't bring her back that way. She couldn't undo such an irreversible mistake.
