I totally admire gif-makers bc I've done some gif editing in the past and it's so hard! But it's disappointing watching a show or movie sometimes and it not being as beautiful and bright as you gif-makers edit it to be lol(;

Oh man, that’s happened to me so many times as well!

There’s like a TON of movies and tv shows that I started watching thanks to having seen gifs on tumblr and while I always stay for the plot, I’m always super disappointed about the photography!

Like, take mad max! wonderful movie and wonderful photography.. but look what people achieved on tumblr! It’s been giffed so many time and in such vibrant colours that yes, I was disappointed a bit when I first watched it and everything was much duller!

But the downside of being a giffer is that I can’t freakly watch a movie/tv show now without imagining already what I’d gif and how I’d colour it and all the missed opportunities the movie makers had xD

I saw your post abt Hannigram and how unhealthy and bad it is. And I see what you are saying for sure. Hannibal is EVIL there is no doubt about it and Will is no angel either. But it's like you know how people ship the Joker and Harley (which is canon)? The Joker is basically the most twisted, evil villain ever created. Harley has done terrible things too. So I guess I'm saying that people sometimes ship people who are bad, but that doesn't make it wrong if they know these are bad ppl

Yeah and and like I said, I get that Hannibal and Will have strong chemistry, and I don’t mind people enjoying that chemistry. What I do mind is people talking about this ship in a way that doesn’t even acknowledge how unhealthy it is. And what I especially don’t like is when people try to make it out to be positive same-sex romance representation. I don’t think it’s bad or homophobic to have a really twisted, unhealthy “love” story (using the word love loosely) between two male characters, but I do think it’s bad to hold it up as positive representation without even mentioning the fact that Hannibal is evil and controlling and Will has been corrupted and his life ruined by his influence. I’ve seen posts that talk about the representation aspect of the relationship without even mentioning that in real life this would not be a good relationship, as if the unhealthy nature of the ship is irrelevant to what kind of representation for same-sex romance it is.
