Jack didn’t go in much for praying anymore. No point, not when nobody upstairs seemed to give a shit either way. Praying was for altar boys and little kids and people who wanted their football team to win the Superbowl; for parents in his ER who refused medical care for their dying children in favor of speaking in tongues and yelling up the ladder to something that didn’t answer. Not for him. He believed in only a few things, and none of those were anything big enough to pray to. Well, almost none. There’d been one thing. A person, really. Bigger than a person, though. More like a grand, orchestral concept, a hope half-divine, fifty-two percent of the reason he kept showing up to work for four years straight.

OH OH AND Jules finds out from Cal that Nate did tell the truth in s2, because she asks Cal why she never got called by the cops to be a witness. So she learns Nate wasn’t lying when he gave her the only copy of the tape. She looks over at Nate a couple times and they share a look at the reception.

IN THE SCENE WHERE THEY TALK BRIEFLY Nate thanks her for coming to the wedding, my god what does it all MEAN, WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN *chewing on the bars of my enclosure*

Alright sadly I feel like this will be the only Nate Jules scene in the whole damn season, but they do have an electrifying 2 minutes after his wedding to Cassie where they smoke together. He basically admits he can’t help still loving her (but he can’t be with her) and she smiles. It’s all very loaded and ambiguous and so many people are saying it’s the only time that Jacob seems to be locked in. In the BTS, Sam talks about how Jules still has feelings for Nate or at least cares enough to come to the wedding. Hunter talks about how Jules is still confused on her feelings for Nate, Jacob talks about how Nate has changed. Sam does make it sound like they’re never going to interact again tho “they’ve both moved on, grown up, they are where they are now” and “there was this fantasy of what could’ve been if Nate wasn’t so troubled and there’s a lot that’s unsaid and the poignancy in how it can be interpreted” so he’s basically like lmao okay fanfic writers go off. And you know what, THAT’S FINE I’d rather Sam not fuck it up the way he has nearly everything else in the show anyway.

not my tweet or my fic (and there’s a good chance of this comment being a bot) but yeah, don’t do this. sure, some writers wouldn’t mind having fanfics (or direct continuation) of their fanfics written by someone else. some may even be thrilled and happy. but the fandom etiquette is that if you want to write a fanfic or a continuation of someone’s fanfic, YOU POLITELY ASK THE WRITER FOR THEIR PERMISSION. not their readers.

also 5 months isn’t long at all. 5 months is 5 minutes when it comes to fanfics. I’ve waited years for my favorite fics to get updated (one of my favorite fanfics was updated by the author after 13 years) and I’ve never said anything to them about “it’s been ___ years, I don’t think it will get updated anymore”. because another fandom / fanfic etiquette is that fanfic writers write for free in their free time, they don’t owe you anything. maybe they will update one day. maybe they won’t. if you want your favorite fic to get updated, you comment something like “this is good!! I’m excited for what happens next” and maybe your positive comment will motivate the author to update. but you don’t say “it’s been ___ months or years”. fanfics writers write for themselves and their own enjoyment. they’re just kind enough to let you read their works for free. stop being rude and entitled to fanfic writers.
