Mind sharing your orange chicken recipe?

Sure!

I use only chicken thighs.

For breading:

Equal parts flour and corn starch. This go around, I did two cups each. Two eggs. Added enough water until the consistency of the batter was like pancake batter. 

I cut the chicken up in about 1in pieces, battered it. Fried it in peanut oil. I fried it once, but I think next time I’ll do it in kind of a karrage method. Fry it three times over. It didn’t brown as fast as I would have liked for some reason.

For the sauce I did 

3 cups water

1 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup hoisin sauce

A tablespoon of minced ginger.

2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup white

Had to use garlic powder cause I forgot to buy the fresh stuff. About a tablespoon.

Copious amounts of red pepper flakes. I think I did about two tablespoons.

The juice of one navel orange. As I boiled and reduced the sauce over medium high heat I kept the orange rinds, quartered, in the sauce the entire time.

Only thing I would do different is use a second orange and actual fresh garlic. I’m also thinking about adding rice wine and honey next time

My guy, I was expected to write current events essays while Bill Clinton was being impeached for getting a blowjob. An event where, as Lewis Black observed, the Republicans had a rifle, put Clinton in their sights, and promptly turned it around and shot themselves in the face. The shitpost timeline has extended back farther than the majority of Tumblr users have been alive.

Of course, after 9/11 the Bush administration went down a different path of crazy, of which the Obama administration was mostly a continuation.

The thing about every president I’ve been conscious enough to observe on at least a kindergartener’s level: Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Obama, Trump... as much as I might want many of the policies of the Bushes, Clinton and Obama to be thwarted... Trump is, well, Trump. He knows how to manipulate an audience, but he hasn’t the vaguest, faintest hint of a clue as to how to manipulate Congress.

And given the shit he says he wants to have happen? The whole world is better off for his incompetence in the face of good, old-fashioned American gridlock.

No clue at all. He doesn’t seem the type to self-delete, he was always so thorough and passionate. Probably one of the 50 people who liked to pick fights with him “reported” him over something.

I’m bad at both. I did finish ONE diary (the first one I did at age 7). But I’ve started and abandoned several by this point. I guess I would default to journal, as I now have a work journal where I can vent without breaching confidentiality or annoying the hell out of my family.

21. Do you prefer movies or shows?

I like shows. It’s interesting to watch shows change (or not change) over their run. Shows can be longer and tell somewhat more complex stories than most movies. But they’re still more convenient since they come in bite-sized pieces. Committing to watching a movie, even one under two hours, feels like a bigger deal than watching a 20-minute episode.

22. What’s your favorite thing to doodle?

Spirals and patterns. I don’t doodle much. Actually, my sister, bro, and I were playing a drawing game over vidchat recently, so I can show you WHY I don’t draw much 😐

35. Do you have a sweet tooth?

All my teeth are sweet teeth 😉 I love sweet foods, but I’m not as crazy about them as even a few years ago. Gonna make peanut butter cookies today just to use up some ingredients.

36. Who inspires you?

My mom, the people at my first branch church, my sister, my current coworkers.
