Just got done reading "The Circle by Dave Eggers" AND UH, I LOVE A GOOD DYSTOPIAN BOOK. In short, it's a book about the ethics and consequences of constant surveillance and the loss of anonymity in a more futuristic setting AND IT GIVES ME SO MANY IDEAS FOR VINCENT AND DENJI.

Vincent specifically because I do NOT HYPE HIM UP ENOUGH but he is a direct competitor of Denji since he is a tech development company but, obviously, is more geared to security. Like, he's at a tech conference and is all: "I now propose my next idea, CrimeStop. Not really creative but I'm paid to invent things. The CrimeStop program has already been installed in our HALT agents' and wardens' technology. The basic gist is that we can scan someone with this technology and cross reference it with criminal databases. Using neat little color codes, we can assess how much of a threat they pose. For example, the one in green is an upstanding citizen, absolutely no criminal records. However, the one in yellow, has records of minor offense such as public disturbance and little things. Someone who shows up red in CrimeStop, however, is someone whose committed awful acts such as murder, rape, terrorism, and every other awful act under the sun. My hope with this program is that we can actually protect our cities more effectively and with less bias. Imagine it: a world where no innocent person of color is wrongfully killed or racially profiled. A world where criminals among us whose identities are unknown BECOME known and they can no longer hide and use civillians as cover. Once we have criminals under our radar, they can't escape from us."

And everyone cheers him on and such and Bruce is all: "Huh, that doesn't sound too bad."

Martha: "I still wouldn't trust it. It's HALT technology after all, made by VINCENT. That man singlehandedly made Warden's prison from Hell come true."

And Denji just watching from a distance and he approaches Vincent and he's all: "Very stunning presentation. I can see this benefitting a lot of people...Including HALT."

Vincent: "It'll certainly be helpful in our line of work, yes. Lucky for you, CrimeStop is only programmed to be informed about those who have been persecuted or are in the records. So Mob bosses, Masterminds, and...Shady CEOs of mediocre tech companies-"

and Denji's brow furrows angrily at him as Vincent turns around, "will be a little bit harder...but you'll all slip up. You and your friends are already on our radar, Mr. Yamisoka, HALT will come for all of you soon enough."

Denji: "And what about the crimes of your agents? Not to brag but I can just as easily dig up dirt about Lisa's black ops missions overseas. Angelo's previous affiliation with a known religious cult isn't that hard for me to find either. But...exposing the Saruhashi Triplets body count and assassinations would be so much easier for me to do. Will they be registered in your precious CrimeStop program or is someone going to have expose all of their histories that you're pathetically trying to cover up?"

Vincent, yawning: "...Sorry, are you done? Should I cower in fear now? Do you not realize that I am always 11 steps ahead of everyone else? You can condescend me as if I haven't already thought of everything but it'll only make things worse for you."

THE BEAUTY OF VINCENT'S MIND IS THAT HE CREATES THINGS THAT, AT FIRST, LOOK VERY HELPFUL AND BENEFICIAL FOR EVERYONE. But he has a very good eye in seeing the connection between technology and control, which is another reason why he's such a valued member of HALT.

Once his program gets approved, it gets access to every single criminal database. The Justice League obviously won't install it but then the public starts to question them.

Why wouldn't they want something to make villains easier to find?

Who are THEY to say they can spot a criminal? Especially when they're the ones who are letting criminals go back into the real world, allowing them to run rampant with civillains.

So when society starts to turn its back on the Justice League and turn to HALT for protection, Warden just smiling at the TV bashing the Justice League and praying HALT, and he looks at Vincent and smiles.

Warden: "Just when I think you can't get any better, you out do yourself."

Vincent: "Well, of course. After all, the only person who can outsmart me...is me."

On and off because my family and I are hosting a Christmas party BUT RAAAH, VINCENT MILLER POSTING BUT, NOW, I LIKE...HAVE A SOLID IDEA OF HOW HIS CONDITION WORKS:

Vincent doesn’t PRODUCE cold—he RUNS OUT OF HEAT. His body cannot retain thermal energy properly because of his Type II MacGregor’s Syndrome. The moment his temperature regulation fails, his organs begin freezing from the INSIDE OUT. Blood thickens. Nerves misfire. Cellular processes slow toward shutdown. So his body panics and IT STEALS HEAT. When his suit is shut off, Vincent’s body siphons heat from itself first. That buys him seconds. Then it starts pulling heat from the environment to keep his organs alive. Machines ice over internally, air crystallizes, and people near him experience rapid hypothermia and can DIE. What’s left behind isn’t “ice” — it’s a thermal void, a space where heat has been violently redistributed just to keep him breathing.

If Vincent drains everything around him and doesn’t re-engage his suit, move to a new heat source, or get Blaise’s help, he dies. The void doesn’t make him stronger. It just delays the inevitable. That’s why his suit exists. It’s a medical device constantly feeding him safe, regulated heat so his body doesn’t steal it from others. BUT LIKE...HE DOES KIND OF UTILIZE HIS ILLNESS WHEN FIGHTING AGAINST PEOPLE AND WHY HE'S STATIONED IN METROPOLIS WITH BLAISE, he can absorb and weaken Superman's body heat that he gets from earth's yellow sun and weaken him a little bit but Clark can replenish his heat and warm up, VINCENT'S BODY CAN NOT HEAT UP ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT ENDLESS AND POWERFUL HEAT SOURCES. Hence where Blaise comes into play.

SO THERE ARE MOMENTS WHEN NEW JUSTICE AND THE DETECTIVE LEAGUE ARE ABOUT TO OVERHWHELM HALT so Vincent shuts off his suit and it takes him at least 10-13 seconds to siphon body heat from a grown human and it can vary between hero and hero—ALL OF THEM WILL FEEL WEAKER, THEY EVENTUALLY FEEL HYPOTHERMIA SET IN, and Vincent never absorbs enough to kill them, just weaken them. When they HAVE reached that point, Vincent WILL STOP and he breathes heavily before he collapses to his knees and all of HALT rushes over to help him once he reactivates his suit again.

I KEEP FORGETTING TO POST ABOUT VINCENT BUT HIS PARENTS ACTUALLY PURPOSELY MADE SURE HE'D BE BORN WITH HIS CONDITION. Like they were one of the doctors that Vic and Nora went to see and they were so fascinated by Nora's illness because it was so unheard of and wanted to keep her and do research but Victor wouldn't let them, however, they did still have some of her DNA from her tests and decided that if Victor wouldn't let them have a test subject, then they'd simply create one.

However, the DNA for the terminal illness got contaminated more than they intended it to be so the older Vincent got, the worse it became. Eventually, it made it that his body was so cold that he would seek out heat from people and objects and steal it from them, leaving him a little warmer but the person/thing frozen solid. They joined ARGUS because Amanda found their lack of morals and intelligence useful and they were able to procure funding to further their research on Vincent's condition.

With that being said, the Miller family is very estranged from one another and they have no strong feelings towards each other. Vincent literally doesn't even hate his parents and whenever someone is all: "DUDE, THEY MADE SURE YOU WERE SICK. They're the reason you're dying." then Vincent will just shrug and he's all: "All parents are the reason for their children dying, once you have given birth to life, it will become older and older and die a little each second that it exists. It's unfortunate but the past can not be fixed. I already know whose to blame, so why spend any more time on it, especially when I could be looking for a cure."

Vincent is still as grumpy and ice cold as his first draft; he's especially blunt considering he doesn't want to be apart of HALT but Amanda Waller is spending MILLIONS on finding him a cure and with HALT's budget, its the best shot he has at surviving his disease. However since he's dealing with Waller, he highly doubts he'll live so he doesn't want to waste any limited breath he has walking around eggshells.

But everyone is convinced he just has a really bad sense of humor because that's how HALT plays it off.

Like he's in an interview and they ask what its like working for Warden and he's all: "Well, I mean, it's kinda like working for a tyrannical overlord except you KNOW what you're doing is wrong. He doesn't even do that much besides yell because Lisa handles the business end and Angelo is the one who does the dirty work."

and Blaise just laughs and elbows him and she's all: "THIS GUY! Probably hasn't had his morning coffee!"

Vincent: "Sure, we can say that."

and then Warden is waiting for them and Blaise just stands closer to Vincent while Vincent just squeezes her hand to assure her he'll be fine.

Warden: "Saw your interview. Can't say I'm too happy with what I heard."

Vincent, smiling bitterly: "Did ya cry to mommy?"

Vincent's story is also gonna be drastically different (lol, I'm gonna obsess over them tonight because fire and ice) where he isn't friends with Nancy or any of the Gotham Rouges and is a Metropolis "hero" like Blaise and they're like a famous media couple.

The media doesn't know about Vincent's condition except for Blaise so she knows how to read him and stuff and when he's starting to feel weak and when the temperature gets to him. Not to mention that she does kinda treat him like he's fragile because she knows that the odds of him staying alive are VERY small but she will do everything she can to try and help him, even if he gets annoyed.

Since he has powers, he's about to create an ice wall to a bunch of criminals who are shooting at him but Blaise makes a fire wall and beats them up and Vincent is all: "I had that..."

"I know, I know, I just...I worry."

"Aw, don't let the media see their favorite strong woman hero get soft."

"Sh-Shut up and die!"

"Currently in the process of that, babe."

"WAIT, NO, I DIDN'T MEAN- Sorry!"

NO BECAUSE VINCENT CAN'T GET TOO HOT OR ELSE HE'LL DIE BUT HE ALSO CAN'T BE TOO COLD BECAUSE HE'LL DIE SO BLAISE ADJUSTING HER BODY TEMP WHEN HIS SUIT IS BROKEN OR SOMETHING AND OVERALL JUST FLIRTS WITH HIM.
