Topi’s Daily Card #1133: Deadeye Tracker
This card is a little confusing to me, but I think it has a lot of potential. For one, it’s graveyard hate on a stick. Sure there could be more efficient removal, but this card has a lot of subthemes to work with. Pirates for one, and +1/+1 counters as another obvious one. The explore trigger is nice, allowing you to either draw a land or he gets bigger and you get to essentially scry 1. Putting stuff into your graveyard though with a self mill in black is pretty potent for EDH, so perhaps you’ll be doing that more often. The Tracker isn’t amazing, but I think it has some prime uses in the right EDH decks.
Hi, for the new card Deadeye Tracker, can I activate its ability to have it explore, even if no opponent has two or more cards in their graveyard, or do there need to be valid targets for the first half to activate the ability? Thanks!

Deadeye Tracker’s ability targets two cards in a single opponent’s graveyard. If there aren’t two cards in an opponent’s graveyard, then there aren’t enough legal targets to activate the ability and so it can’t be activated.
