2, 6, and 7 from the Deadfire asks?

Cait I have so many Watchers. Answering for Talia (wood elf cypher) and Artemisia (hearth orlan wizard/druid), the two that finished/got the farthest through Deadfire!

2. Did they have a favourite location?

Talia – The Kahanga palace and the Watershapers Guild in Neketaka.

Artemisia – Bekarna’s Observatory (The Forgotten Sanctum would also probably be up there, I just haven’t played it yet).

6. What was your Watcher’s ship(’s) name(s)? Did they enjoy being Captain of a boat? Would they rather have been back at Caed Nua?

Talia – Talia upgraded to the junk by the end of the game and named it The Lovely Dove. She was not super fond of captaining and absolutely would have preferred to be back at Caed Nua.

Artemisia – I’m pretty sure she has the junk at this point and all of her ships have been named The Rebel Sorceress. She is having the time of her life sailing around the Deadfire causing problems on purpose for literally everyone (especially the RDC).

7. Did they have a favourite quest or side quest? How about a least favourite?

Talia – She generally enjoyed the Huana questline up until they asked her to blow up the RDC and blame it on the VTC. She did it, but she felt so dirty about the whole thing.

Artemisia – The questline at the Observatory. Also heisting Arkemyr’s manor while impersonating him. I have no doubt Forgotten Sanctum will be high up there, I… just still haven’t played it yet.

Deadfire asks 2, 4, 7, 10 for Adi?

2. Did they have a favourite location?

Well, the library part in Forgotten Sanctum would be significantly higher on the list if they weren’t all overgrown and gross. Probably Bekarna’s Observatory, once it’s not full of people trying to kill her. xD

4. Was there a companion or an NPC that they just couldn’t stand? What was it about them that irritated your Watcher?

Not really? There are people who irritate her, but it’s really hard to get Adi to the point of “can’t stand your presence”, she’s just very easy-going. There is that racist shopkeeper in All the Comforts of Home, but I don’t think he counts since I made him up.

7. Did they have a favourite quest or side quest? How about a least favourite?

Forgotten Sanctum is definitely her favorite. The whole thing. From everything she learns to meeting Tayn and Llengrath(and Bekarna. I feel like Adi and Bekarna would be very good friends given the chance)   Least favorite is anything that takes her into the Old City/Old City Ruins. She’s so short, all that nasty water and muck comes to her waist and just EW. She solves this by having Edér or Tekéhu carry her as much as possible, but she still doesn’t like it.

10. Where do you imagine your Watcher’s life takes them after the events of Deadfire?

Two different answers, depending on canon vs Stars Rewritten AU:

In the AU, she beelines for Aedyr to reunite with Heodan and then they go back to rebuild Caed Nua together, where she starts researching potential ways to fix/replace the Wheel.

In canon she probably visits Yezuha with Rekke for a while, then takes him with her to Ixamitl for a good visit with her family, then back to Caed Nua for rebuilding and research etc.

3. How about a favourite companion? Or a favourite NPC?

Aloth is her favorite shhh don’t tell the others. Her main party is Aloth, Tekehu, Pallegina, and Xoti as her faves and, let me tell you, that is a party that Totally Gets Along With No Problems.

6. What was your Watcher’s ship(’s) name(s)? Did they enjoy being Captain of a boat? Would they rather have been back at Caed Nua?

I’m pretty positive it’s the The Flowering Grace, but I haven’t pulled up my save game to check. I restarted her game like four times and I don’t think I ever got far enough to get a larger ship. But she does enjoy the ship and captaining. She’s an adventurer at heart and was going a bit stir crazy being stuck at Caed Nua.

8. Did your Watcher find romance, or close companionship, in the Deadfire? If so, who did they get close to, and how did that relationship develop?

I ship her with Aloth but I never got far enough in her game to actually lock in the romance with him. However, I’ve written about them having pining feelings for each other since Pillars 1 including Amaryllis helping Aloth with some of his Leaden Key adventures in between games. They still don’t actually get together until Deadfire where there is still much pining for a long time (and Xoti starts off just assuming they’re dating already because of the way they look at each other).

2. Did they have a favourite location?

Not really? She likes seeing new sights and adventure and all that, so she was equally happy with all the new places she got to see.

4. Was there a companion or an NPC that they just couldn’t stand? What was it about them that irritated your Watcher?

No one’s coming to mind, but that’s probably because I haven’t played in a long time, thanks to how long it takes to load, and then starting PfKm. I”m sure there’s somebody she’ll just loathe with a fiery passion.

6. What was your Watcher’s ship(’s) name(s)? Did they enjoy being Captain of a boat? Would they rather have been back at Caed Nua?

She just kept the Defiant. It suits her, and she gets attached. And, no, she relished 

8. Did your Watcher find romance, or close companionship, in the Deadfire? If so, who did they get close to, and how did that relationship develop?

I mean, romance she already had with Aloth, we just made it canon-official this time around .xD And she and Edér were already bffs. Aside from that… she and Serafen hit it off real well real fast, so she gets along pretty great with him. And–like all my Watchers–she loves Rekke and Xoti.

10. Where do you imagine your Watcher’s life takes them after the events of Deadfire?

All over the  place; she’s helping Aloth hunt down the Leaden Key I’m hoping to work in a visit to the Living Lands so she can maybe discover she still has one of her brothers…. but we’ll see.

2. Did they have a favourite location?

Lillian in general does not love the Deadfire because it’s hot and muggy and generally unpleasant things are happening to her while she’s there. It’s just one thing after another of people (and gods) needing her to solve their problems. So… uh… no, I’m having trouble coming up with anything.

5. Was your Watcher glad to have Eder, Aloth and Pallegina back again (if indeed they did)? Was there any other companion that they would have liked to have back in their party?

Absolutely! She was glad to see her old friends, though her relationship with Pallegina was a bit strained due to her undying loyalty to the VTC. Lillian wishes Sagani could have been there as well, but not enough to tear her away from her family.

8. Did your Watcher find romance, or close companionship, in the Deadfire? If so, who did they get close to, and how did that relationship develop?

I ship her with Edér so nope, no romance for her ;_; (In my head they already got married in between games.)

5. Was your Watcher glad to have Eder, Aloth and Pallegina back again (if indeed they did)? Was there any other companion that they would have liked to have back in their party?

She was, very much so. Edér is a very good friend, she and Pallegina have bonded over the struggles of being godlike, and Aloth is her very best friend in the world even before they find out they're soul twins. She would very much have liked it if Kana could come along on this adventure of hers, rather than just seeing him in passing, bc her crush on him is still very much a Thing.

7. Did they have a favourite quest or side quest? How about a least favourite?

I didn't get her very far, so can't completely answer this. 😅 I know she hates the Old City, so anything down there is eeugh. Favorite will be anything that involves freeing slaves or helping the downtrodden. I should pick her game back up.

Oh, so glad. *gestures at wall of fic* We all know how in love she is with Aloth, and Edér's her bff. Things were a bit rougher with Pallegina, given she got kicked from the Brotherhood for events of the first game, but they patched things up and were friends again. She'd've loved to have Kana or Sagani back too(Kana half to watch him interact with his sister xD)

6. What was your Watcher’s ship(’s) name(s)? Did they enjoy being Captain of a boat? Would they rather have been back at Caed Nua?

She kept the Defiant as the Defiant. It fits her, so perfectly. She did enjoy being a ship captain, but still prefers solid ground. Does not want to be back at Caed Nua bc that shit was getting boring.

9. Which faction did your Watcher side with in the end, if any? Was there a particular reasoning behind their decision?

I think I had her side with the VTC? Purely to keep Pallegina from getting screwed over in the epilogue bc I'd heard some of the ways she could end up and she's dealt with enough shit already.

10. Where do you imagine your Watcher’s life takes them after the events of Deadfire?

Oh, she's with Aloth, helping him hunt down the fuckin' Leaden Key, getting married, popping in to visit Edér(+ family) in Dyrford. :3

2. Did they have a favourite location?

Bekarna's observatory, once the baddies are gone, is gonna be a favorite, I can tell. Anywhere with Engwithan ruins will also claim a lot of her time and attention.

3. How about a favourite companion? Or a favourite NPC?

Companions- Aloth, Xoti, and Rekke. Xoti and Rekke become her best friends.

NPCs-Tayn and Bekarna, she'll practically go into fangirl mode meeting both of them(despite... y'know with Bekarna)

6. What was your Watcher’s ship(’s) name(s)? Did they enjoy being Captain of a boat? Would they rather have been back at Caed Nua?

Pretty sure she's just gonna stick with the original ship, which she renames the Ilhana, after an explorer she's loved since she was a kid. She is not crazy about sailing, no, and would much rather be on solid ground anywhere, but back at Caed Nua--either undestroyed or restored--would be best(esp. in the Stars Rewritten 'verse, so she could be with Heodan).
