Angewomon: ah!?
This was the context that produced a fearful white man with a gun and a badge
Cathy Cohen, “Whose Black Lives Matter?”
Deadly Fear - Cynthia Eden
This is not a romance book. I would consider this more of a Mystery Thriller/Suspense then romance. There is no real chemistry or even a really good connection between the characters. Romance is suppose to be passionate and the struggle within that emotion. That is not the case with this story it was more a battle of wills and the love scenes were very ... well ... dry! I would not reccommend this for a romanctical read I am not even interested in reading the other two books in this series. This is book one out of three in the Deadly Series Deadly Fears Deadly Heat Deadly Lies Discussion Questions: TBA
Well well.... I first pickup this book when I recognized the author, then I looked at the cover and after that I spotted Larissa Ione's on it with a comment, and thought "I must take a look". And I did. Enjoyed the first two pages of it, and had a second thought "Finally, detective work".
And took it home with me. They had the whole set, of three books, Deadly Fear, Deadly Heat and Deadly Lies. I bought the first and the last book, cause I couldn't find the second on that shelf. At least I started with the first book (HA!).
It was an easy read with that suspense and detective work that I love... and thank God, a lot of action. The problem is that it took some time to enjoy the characters. There were those I liked at first and the main character, Monica, took me sometime. But I liked the plot and even if I did know it continued, the author made it clear that it would have at least another story...
Let me tell you a bit about the book. Monica is an excellent profiler for a special unit of the FBI responsible for catching serial killers. She keeps a few secrets and fears from her past and has an icy edge to everyone around her. She's not friendly. Luke is a new addition to this group and he has a past as complicated as Monica's. While they're on the clock to catch a killer they have to learn how to trust each other and open up about their past and feelings for each other...
... Sparks will fly, people will get shot, killed, traumatized... among other things.
Worth the read, so go ahead.
