so... bimbo gf has proposed!!

it was so casual, like we were out on date night, and she kept looking at me weirdly and i was 100% sure she was going to say something dumb, but anyway- we were in ikea, and i was looking at the display room thing and joking around and she just grabbed me, turned to me and said "we should get married, i can see my life with you like this" and i thought she was joking but she held out a ring 😭 i was speechless, absolutely shocked.

and then i started to cry

Geralt slowed Roach to a halt and turned to face the bard, whose tongue was sticking out from between his lips. He was standing stock-still in the middle of the dirt path, his eyes squinting down at his lutestring. He glanced up at Geralt, signing hastily: This string will break soon.

The witcher nodded. We’ll get new ones soon.

Jaskier smiled brightly, contented, and slung the lute into its case. There was no point endangering his eyes or fingers by playing with strings that might break. The bard jogged up to Geralt’s side and tapped against his leg to get his attention. When the witcher glanced down, Jaskier asked: How much further today?

Six miles. Maybe more, maybe less. No town today, sorry.

That’s fine. I like the stars.

Geralt smiled. He was lucky to have a friend like Jaskier, who never gave up on him and always seemed to bring out the best side of his gruff, grumpy nature. He was sure it had something to do with the bard’s tenacity; who else could be born deaf and still devote their life to making beautiful music?

His signed poetry was also rather touching, but if Geralt ever said anything about it, it would go straight to the bard’s head. And that was large enough already.

The silence had never weighed heavily on Geralt, and it felt even more comfortable with Jaskier at his side, chatting to him with his hands when he felt like it, whistling softly once and awhile.

I love you, he said, hands safely within the confines of his cloak for now. Someday he’d be able to admit it for real, but not yet. He said it again just to feel the way his fingers moved through the words: I love you so much.

Hi! I'm the deaf lady who adopted the full sized King. My name is Sarah and I wanted to let you know that Snaps(short for SnapDragon) has settled in nicely. He and Daisy get along great and Snaps has taken to helping with all of the cooking and cleaning and we 'read' to each other every night. When I got my match-up, you suggested I look for a chain to bond with since he might already know ASL. I'd like to offer my service. Snaps and I could come in and teach ASL to any bitty who wants to learn!

*I’m glad Snaps has settled in so well, and I love his name. I’m sure he enjoys having the opportunity to cook and feels useful by helping you out! The lamia bittybones here at the shop would love to take sign language classes from you and Snaps, especially the Chains. Chains try to learn as many different forms of communicating as possible so that they are prepared for when they find their owner.

*Honestly, I’m sure the Papythons and Kings would enjoy learning ASL to be more helpful to shop visitors and potential adopters. Corals and Mambas will want to learn because they would hate to feel left out, and Commanders, Cornies, and Kraits just enjoy learning new things. Even the Pygmies will slow their zooms and the Honey Bos will come out of hiding for such an important class!

*Honey the Pappy puppypapri tugs Vex’s apron. “Me too?” he asks. He wants to learn so that he can be the very best shop assistant he can be. “Of course!” Vex reassures him, ruffling his ears. He wags his entire body. He can’t wait to learn!

Pants it's deaf anon. I'm just letting you know I made it back to NZ safely. I've picked up so much asl slang and it's rubbing off on me, haha. I had a lot of fun, and I'm really glad I stayed and explored. I'm borderline stage 3 and I'm very weak but I've only got two more sessions to go.. so i just want to share what happened today with bimbo gf!!

so i caught the bus for the first time in a while, and i wasnt expecting it to be so busy, but by the end i was very overstimulated and irritated.

so when i get home, all her stuff is all over the apartment and i almost burst into tears then, but shs got some sort of fuckin super power cause she immediately knew something was wrong, and carried me to a bath, and cuddled me.

i love her 😭
