One of the interesting things about being deaf is like, 99% of ambient noise is lost on me but I can hear very specific sounds still. And sometimes at quite a distance, as there’s no interfering sounds to have to listen over. For example I just heard someone drop and break a glass from a whole other house not my own, but will just have to just imagine the expletives that came afterward.
me? downing an americano in under two minutes before stepping into my audiologist’s office so she can scold me for not wearing my hearing aid? it’s more likely than you think.
Reasons to teach SO sign language
Most people: so I can understand them better
Me: I don't wanna put my implants on in the morning, and I also wanna talk shit about people at the bars
did you guys know songs actually have lyrics?? like they're singing real words????
Hearing aids problem no 1
When your hearing aids did a stupid and now the bluetooth is sending all computer audio to one hearing aid and now you’re like ?????? how do i fix????
Hulu is new to us AND annoying because every episode you continue to.... you HAVE TO TURN THE CAPTIONS ON AGAIN! Like I didn’t become hearing in the last four seconds Hulu wtf ????
I just bought the sickest product ever, telecoil ear hooks. I just put them over my ears, next to my hearing aids, plug them into my phone, and listen to music using the T-coil setting on my hearing aids. The music is playing through my hearing aids, no more headphones required, no more taking my hearing aids out to listen to music and it not being loud enough for me but being so loud everyone can hear my music, no more people talking to me when I’ve headphones in and me taking about 30 seconds to find my hearing aid, put it in and wait for it to turn on before I can hear them. Now I can just change my hearing aid setting with a push of a button and go back to normal hearing and have a conversation.
This is the best thing I’ve ever bought.
