Jack was shocked to see he had a letter from Ian in the mail. Usually they texted back and forth. He laid on his couch as he opened the envelope. He grinned with each word he read. He planned to write back and send it off tomorrow, which he would, but he had to let Ian know he’d gotten the letter.

“actually… i just miss you.” He signed
She wasn’t expecting that, she stayed quiet for a minute, thinking that she had misunderstood his signs. “You missed me?” She signed back slowly, and spoke at the same time. “Are you okay?”

It was rare for her to take a day off, out of costume and not even searching for any signs of trouble. Sure, it was because she’d been ordered begged to relax for a day and finally caved, but still.
Walking down the avenue, she tried to let herself relax. Not that it worked as a scuffle to her left caught her attention.

↓ - for my muse to get drunk and emotional
Logan should have never left Kurt at Harry’s by himself. The Elf hadn’t been feeling too well, emotionally, that was, and being left in a place that served copious amounts of alcohol did not bode well. He hadn’t meant to get drunk, but of course, he had. At first, the beer had been a bit of a pick-me-up, but he kept drinking, wanting more of that warm, fuzzy feeling inside of his chest. Of course, alcohol didn’t quite work that way, and soon enough, the blue mutant was staring into the amber liquid in his mug, thinking of all the wrongs he’d done in his life, of all the would-have-been’s and could-have-been’s, and mourning what he’d never had.
Tears blurred his vision, and before he knew what was happening, his cheeks were wet. “I--” he started, realizing that he was talking to no one in particular. “I nneed to go hhome.” He was lucid enough to realize that he shouldn’t attempt to go home on his own. He needed someone to take him, but what had he done with his phone? And what would his team member say when they saw him like this? Shame washed over him for allowing himself to sink into such a state, and he wanted to hide. He knew better. They knew he knew better, and he knew it, too.
Oh, what a tangled web we weave.
