Listen, Dean drinking himself into an early grave after Cas dies is like, typical canon behavior. That's the kinda thing the writers would do.
But. Dean literally just shutting down? That's the shit that gets me. That's what tells you that Cas' death was much more significant than being just yet another bad thing in Dean's miserable life.
I absolutely adore how the og leather jacket looks on Dean, But. It's also such a fucking vile representation of John's 'possession' of Dean in the early seasons so I can't fucking stand it
The thing about Dean is that they drop all these little character issues about him that should've culminated in something. Dean had trouble talking after his mom died? He should've had trouble talking when stressed or hurting. Dean had to struggle to provide food for Sam and himself growing up? They should've acknowledged his unhealthy relationship with food by more than a fucking joke at his expense (im still fucking salty about that joke the reaper made) And lastly if it's been Heavily implied many, many times throughout the series that Dean had been mentally, financially, and physically abused by John? Maybe let's not have Sam increasingly respect the bastard!!
Once again thinking about Sam and hozier—particularly Arsonist's Lullaby—and man. It would've been so cool if sam had had pyromaniac tendencies. A young Dean trying to keep little Sammy away from fires, stoves, lighters, etc. because Sammy keeps trying to light them for no reason, and because Dean's still afraid of fire more than he'll ever admit. In their teen years, Sam and Dean go with John on a salt and burn. Dean leaves soon after the grave's lit to take the stuff back to the car—he won't say that its because the flames make his throat threaten to close up and his hands start to shake—and while John and Sam stand there, John can't help but notice how intently Sam watches the fire. It unsettles something in his chest; he begins to be a little wary of Sam after that, and he's a little sterner against Sam's complaints.
Not usually into genderbend content, but female! Sam would Slap bc of the whole tainted blood and period connection. Some classic Carey symbolism going on there.
I'd say Female! Dean could parallel Mary more, but honestly, they already do that a ton in canon, even before she was revived.
Dean having a fear of dogs from the beginning would've been a neat little bit of foreshadowing
See. Dean being a some sort of professional or casual writer in normal Au's or otherwise is very cool to me bc of Chucks weird favoritism/obsession with him. Also, bc Dean canonically enjoys books/novels, and I Will Fight anyone who tries to deny it.
