Imma head canon Hello Kitty as a lesbian and her girl friend is named Dear Danielle. Dear Daniel is her drag king name and prefers to go by Dear Daniel more often because she’s butch/masc.
This isn’t gonna make any sense if you don’t know some Sanrio lore lol.
What other character in the RP has had the biggest (positive or negative) impact on your character, and in what way?
Danielle has definitely had the largest impact on Sawyer, he’s the person that he most feels the need to protect, and I think one of the people who least wants his protection, which puts him in a weird spot. She reminds him on a regular basis of his dad, which is hard. She also makes him feel like his mom, which is even harder sometimes. The biggest impact she has on him though is the fact that she causes him to face not only her mortality, but his own. No matter how many differences he sees in her from himself the similarities will always be the omnipresent things. They grew up together, she feels like a sister, almost like an extension of himself. The fact that bad things happen to her reminds him that those same things could happen to him. It's also another reminder that he can’t protect anyone completely, that things are outside his control. No matter how much he loves her he can’t keep her, or anyone entirely safe.
The effects are mainly positive though, even if they are difficult for him to handle. Her existence reminds him that other humans exist, that there are other ways to live and other choices to make, which is important for his not being an asshole. She's also just the coolest person he knows by far and no matter how much he disagrees with some of her choices he wishes he could be more like her, that he could form real connections past surface levels. She’s one of the few people he really connects with and feels totally himself with. He loved loves her more than anyone.
The house in Falmouth had almost immediately reclaimed its status as home in Sawyer’s mind. The flat in London had been nice, but nothing particularly special, in fact he’d only stayed so long because Danielle had been there, changing it from an apartment to something bordering on home. His childhood house though, that was something to behold. It was tight but somehow roomy, especially after he and his mother had replaced the charms his parents had put up as a couple so many years ago. The yard was big enough for both pets, and though Sawyer was waiting till spring to plant he could already envision the garden bordering the front and back of the house. It made Sawyer feel safe and somehow readier for adventure than he’d been in a while.
Even Danielle had seemed to be adjusting. Everything had been so settled, she didn’t miss work, walked Llama, sometimes went to dinner with his mum, she was stable. Old habits die hard though, so Sawyer wasn’t overly concerned when Danielle’s bed wasn’t slept in Monday morning. He was mildly bugged by Monday evening when he hadn’t received even the faintest hint of her location. By Tuesday, when Danielle still hadn’t appeared, Sawyer apparated to his mother’s flat in a stupor.
“So when’s the last time you saw her?” Eleanor asked, leaning forward across the table.
“Sunday morning I guess- but really, I don’t think it’s that’s big of a deal. She’s done this before.”
His mother leaned back, biting her lip. “We should tell her parents Sawyer.”
“No. She wouldn’t want that. They aren’t-” Sawyer paused for a moment, taking a deep breath and releasing it in a shudder. “I’m not worried about her, she’ll be fine. I’m sorry I brought it up,” he said, taking a bite of his almost cold ravioli. “You make great pasta, really. Thanks.”
Sawyer had fully expected to find Danielle in her bed Wednesday morning. A three day vanishing act would have been in character a while ago. Before Llama, before her job, before- he wasn’t sure on this fact- but possibly Bertie. Her bed was cold on Wednesday though, and Sawyer couldn’t help but be disappointed. He’d seen her growth over the past months, her spirit had remained intact but she’d grown up somehow. Sawyer had been so proud- he kicked the wall, sending Llama into a barking frenzy as he sank onto her bed. Wherever she was Sawyer trusted that she was safe, whatever mistakes she made Danielle had always been able to take care of herself. The quiet voices in the back of his head gently reminded him of the torture last December, but she’d come out of it okay, intact. She was just being Danielle, flighty, irresponsible Danielle.
By Wednesday evening Sawyer’s stomach was twisting into knots. He wasn’t sure wether to be nervous or angry, but the anger kept bubbling up. Sometimes- no matter how little he liked to admit it- Danielle felt like all he had. Of course there was his mum, and Ross, and everyone else- but mothers were mothers. Everyone else could leave, could vanish into his memory, but Danielle hadn’t left. She’d been there for so long, he’d trusted her so- he squeezed his eyes shut and buried his face in his hands. Sawyer had found himself seated on Danielle’s bed once again, as the sun set in the distance. Llama whined, asking for Danielle.
“I’m sorry mate, I dunno where she is either. She’ll be back though, soon. Really soon.”
