It was consistently difficult to hide a gift from a psychic. Which was the exact reason why Jasper hadn’t chosen anything yet. Or that was one of the reasons, at least. The other, more important one, was mainly the fact that he didn’t like the idea of going off to find a gift alone. As small and uncrowded as the local shopping center was, he didn’t have that much trust in himself. Another part of his plan had quickly become an issue when in consciously not making any decisions, he hadn’t left himself that much time to find something. Fortunately, there was Esme. A majority of the others had gone off on a hunting trip while Alice and Rosalie had gone out with plans involving getting things for one of the new cars and new rooms. He didn’t know why Esme stayed behind, but he was grateful for it when he went to find her. With some luck, Alice would be too busy to see that he’d decided to go out. “Esme? Could I get your help with something?”
