I don't know how long will I be able to keep this up. I'm crumbling.
If I don't wake up tmrw, this is my goodbye.
@lyraxlestrange continued from here
The Dark Lord wanted Hermione Granger dead.
Each attempt the Dark Lord made on Harry Potter’s life seemed to fail and he attributed it all to the protection of his friends. So, he endeavoured to take out those closest to him first, to destroy the Golden Trio and in turn the Golden boy but the Dark Lord wouldn’t sully his own hands with the blood of a blood traitor and a mudblood so he decided to employ one of his followers to target them.
Lyra Lestrange.
Daughter of two of the most loyal of his servants, the witch had shown a great talent for torture and killing, much like her parents. She was more than honoured to be given the task and got to work right away. It took months of tracking but finally she had found them. She watched them, day and night, waiting to take advantage of vulnerabilities. She couldn’t deny that they were smart and careful, but then they had let their defences slip.
It didn’t matter that the witch was glamoured or transfigured, her mannerisms were certainly Hermione’s. Lyra followed her, closely behind though disillusioned, into a bookstore. She quickly transfigured herself, change her facial features slightly and donning muggle attire before approaching the younger woman who was perusing the shelves.
Lyra let out a dramatic sigh, “I swear they always shuffle the stock around so you have to spend more time looking around the store and in turn you want to buy other things.” She picked up a book, “Like look at this. How beautiful are these photos of planets. How could I say no to this?”
It had been so long that they were on the run now, just moving from place to place; they hadn’t been captured since they had gone to the Malfoy manor all those years ago. It was really beginning to feel like a fruitless cause, to try and find the horcruxes and then to defeat Voldemort? Hermione had begun to lose her hope, but she tried to keep it up around Harry and Ron.
There were times when she would go out and do a bit of shopping, not only for food but for personal items as well. The first place she would try to go to would be a book store and that was where she found herself as she heard a woman sigh loudly.
She knew to change herself before she went anywhere outside of the protections of the shields she put up, she couldn’t risk being found. But even with the disguise, she was always wary, her shoulders never relaxed.
Hermione nodded, trying to get through the conversation that the woman wanted to have quickly enough. “That does seem to be their goal sometimes, but that is a very nice book.” She herself had picked up a couple of psychology books.
