i just saw on tiktok that there's a scene of L speaking to the wammy's kids through the laptop???? and they're asking him what he's afraid of? and MELLO is there listening? and near? ppl were saying it was from the movie which im assuming means the rewrite version but i thought that apart from the scene with light at L's grave and the one where it's implied light becomes a shinigami, there weren't other extra scenes from the anime and now im going insane pls someone tell me if there's more mello content in there that i haven't seen before

I’m watching the Death Note rewrite special and man this thing has AWFUL pacing. (Which I guess is kinda predictable when you’re trying to fit the first half of the TV show in to just two hours)

I’ve only watched the first 20 minutes but they’ve already skimmed over so much (Like Lights motivations and some key points of L’s investigation) and they go through all the plot points so fast that I imagine if you watched this without seeing the show you’d just be incredibly confused by what was happening 😂

Concept: Light gets the Death Note but realises the real issue is cops and shitty politicians + proceeds to kill them all instead of criminals. The world becomes a less shitty place and the poor and disabled are allowed to fucking exist. Minorities (ESPICIALLY POC) are allowed to exist without getting arrested or killed. Light wins. The end. Roll credits.

There are many types of monsters in this world, monsters who will not show themselves and who cause trouble. Monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood, and, monsters who always tell lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance, they are much more cunning than other monsters. They pose as humans, even though they have no understanding of the human heart. They eat, even though they've never experienced hunger. They study even though they have no interest in academics. They seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such a monster, I would likely be eaten by it, because in truth, I am that monster.
