On March 1, 2015 LAPD murdered unarmed Charley Robinet (“Africa”). He was on the ground and surrounded by several fully armed officers, but yet they shot and killed him. Trishawn Cardessa Carey, a 34-year old skid row resident and witness to the murder, was arrested at the scene. She was beaten by the police and later charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. Her bail is set at $1,085,000.00. LAPD uses skid row and other low income communities of color as their killing fields and as testing grounds for their tools of violence and surveillance- their murderous ways are getting worse. Trishawn is a survivor of these killing fields but is now being held as a political prisoner- LAPD is afraid of what she will say, being a witness of this murder. We demand that they free Trishawn Carey!
