Everything wrong with deathnote
I had a ton of problems with the movie but mostly is was the ridiculous Gore and the fact that everyone was an idiot and out of character
Light: Light is a super genius who wasn’t being challenged enough and when he gets his hands on the deathnote he uses his brains to try to rid the world of evil and he mostly used the heart attack rule (not present in the movie) to make the deaths quick and natural and harder yo prove that a killer is doing it, he rarely used more extreme measures unless you pissed him off personally (outside of testing the limits of the book) he was always well written and unbelievably one step ahead and his laugh is hilarious (replaced with a scream in the movie)
Mia/Misa Misa Misa was about to be raped when Kira (Light) killed her rapist (I am pretty sure he could have been a murderer but since shes a model im pretty sure I am right but its been years since watching the show/reading the manga) and because of this she started getting into the religion building around Kira by people who are greatful that the world is safer thanks to him and they believe he is a compassionate god instead if a human , she then gets her hands on her own deathnote and paid the steep price of half her Life span to use the shinigami eyes to find her Idol after realizing how the deathnote works, once she found him she swore to serve him because she was inlove with him for saving her (important note she found out her own way LIGHT WOULD NEVER TELL SOME RANDOM GIRL NO MATTER HOW HOT SHE IS JUST WILLY NILLY ABOUT THE DEATH NOTE HES NOT A MORON) Misa wasn’t a sociopath just a devout follower that light saw as a pawn
Also both of Lights parents and sister where all alive and understanding and very supportive of his endeavors (they didnt know he was Kira) a huge plot point is how much kf a hero his dad is (the police chief) and he does play a huge role in finding Kira but light wouldnt hesitate to kill his own family if he believed it was for the greater good but he tried like hell to avoid it
Ryuk as much as I love William Defoe (sp) was a mess Death gods are morally grey they literally cannot be anything else He was supportive of Light and sometimes gave a few chuckles but he never pressured his ideas either way after all he drops the death note out of boredom to see the different way people react to it, it would be boring if everyone where serial killers and he didnt interfere with his own deathnote until the end (spoilers)
L oh my god L what a fucking mess
L is another bored super genius on the opposite side of the spectrum
He was suspicious of Light from early on and it became a battle of wits
L has no emotions other then his love of candy Hes awkward and has sensory issues so he wore baggy clothes and no shoes he would never go nuts after hearing about the death of his friend on the kira case and get an actual fucking gun
He also held the death note several times and saw ryuk (old rule anyone who touches the deathnote can see its shinigami and that was removed) which scared him but other then that he was pretty calm until Light outfoxed him
This L was an emotional wreck which caused him to be more neurotic then anything
Inconsistencies where another huge issue Why did they not need Wataris last name to kill him
Why did L show his face after suspecting Light needs a face to kill TO LIGHT DIRECTLY
Why did Light kill people so grusomely if hes such a whimpy baby
Why is Mia a cunt
If hes a genius why did he rat himself out twice
Why did he take Mias shit
Why is this movie so bad
