I feel like i've asked already but advice on a volume pedal? Ernie Ball seems like a cheap option even with the mods but is there any other volume pedal that wouldn't need a buffer mod in the same price range with similar functionality?

Ya know, I can't necessarily answer that accurately. As I've been using a friggin' Fender Volume since 2010 haha. I love that thing. I think my next volume pedal is gonna be an AMT LLM-2, though. 

But I feel like most people roll with the Ernie Ball.

that's about right- I've never been able to find any type of emotional connection with most of the bands in this scene and it's generally from uninspired lyricism and a similar sound. It's an easy listen but that's about it

I'd recommend giving Between Bodies a shot. I'm not huge on this scene either but I actually was fairly impressed. it's less than a half hour long if you ever find the time to listen to it

Yeah maybe, I have issues finding emotional relevance with most of the bands from this scene might be from overexposure

I think it also calls authenticity into question. don't get me wrong I don't want these people to be emotional wrecks all the time but hearing similar sounds and lyricism all the time really pulls you out of the experience emotionally

They have been playing this area since their bandcamp demos and shit have been up but the closest I’ve gotten to enjoying them is digging One Hundred Year Ocean and being okay with Whenever, If Ever not sure if I’m going to bother trying with thisone

Between Bodies about has the emotional subtlety of a knife in your chest tbh it might be too kitchen sink for your tastes but that's what I like about it

idk I thought it was an interesting departure from the more impressionistic stuff they did in the past

If I remember correctly, I was not a fan of this one but I think it came out around the time that I decided JRPGs were no longer worth the effort

I feel you about JRPGs not being worth the effort because a) English translations and voiceovers are always fucking awful and b) the gameplay is repetitive and not fun and the fact that it was a JRPG almost put me off buying it but a game about Frederic Chopin on his deathbed and escapism sounded too intriguing for me to pass up

right now I kinda like it, the visuals are good and the combat system is unique and fun, but I feel like certain aspects (unlimited use of special attacks, how little experience it takes to level up, unusually high health points) are making the game a little too casual. but I don't really like hardcore RPGs, so...
