Long story, short...Ryou literally runs into 'Mister Tall, Dark, and Handsome'.
This is a very, very slow WiP atm. I have been working on it randomly for probably the past year now, and have only just started chapter 3 where this happens (it's very slow at the start for a reason).
So the whole thing starts with some unrequited angstshipping. Ryou and Marik are a casual thing, but Ryou hopes that maybe Marik feels more based on how things had been going and invites him to come stay in Domino with him. It ends with Ryou running towards the nearest airport exit in tears.
There's a 'teenage girl who just broke-up with her boyfriend and fuck him and everything that reminds me of him' scene, then a new day starts and Ryou has to pick up and carry on like an adult and go to work (booo)
His high-spirited coworker, Rina (totally not the OC under yet another name 😂), makes him feel better by not only remembering his birthday, but taking him out for dinner later. He jokingly wishes he can find 'Mister Tall, Dark, and Handsome' when he blows out the candle on his cupcake (I think you can guess where this is going).
Later, after dropping Rina off at her apartment, Ryou runs into someone...with his car. At first he freaks out (because he just HIT A PERSON WITH HIS CAR), but once he see's the persons face he really freaks out. He'd never met Marik's alter, only heard the stories, but he can tell that the unconscious body is not Marik. He does the good person thing (because he can't exactly call the cops and say 'Hey, I just ran over the dissociative identity of my ex') and takes Yamima home until he can figure out from there.
Beyond this point, its some Yamima freaking out over not knowing where he is or how he got there, Rina finding out, some progressive character development via angst, and putting my OC through the horrors with Yamima becoming the equivalent of an overprotective big brother.
