Hi friends!
I apologize for my lack of posts. I've had a really difficult summer. I recently just lost a family member I was very close to, and in turn, I haven't wanted to blog (or do much of anything, really) in quite some time.
But! I've decided that I need to get back into action. I need to keep updating this blog, and writing (I should ALWAYS be writing) and I REALLY have to get back to my book. I stopped for a little while because of writer's block, but I've got such great ideas for my story! :)
Anyway - it's Wednesday, yes? BOOKS!
The Lifeguard / Deborah Blumenthal
7/10
I'm currently in the middle of this. I'll be the first to tell you - this book was recommended to me by a friend and there is no doubt in my mind that my friend read this because of the aesthetically pleasing cover. Cute boy, blonde hair, muscles, and the beach...I mean, who WOULDN'T want to read this, am I right?
As much as I enjoy the cover of this book (yeah, I'll admit it, I do), what really captured me is the undercover facts of this story. It talks about the main character, Sirena, and her love for art and drawing and painting. From what I have gathered thus far, from what I have read and also the cover of the book and back cover synopsis, the main subject of the story is Sirena's infatuation with a lifeguard, Pilot, at her local beach. But I find her fascination and dedication to her art so intriguing and interesting, and I do hope by the end of the story that she not only scores the boy of her dreams, but that she also is able to really delve into her love of artistry and craft.
