I got a call a few times (3, starting last month over the course of every two to three weeks) from, after googling, seems to be a debt collecting firm. I haven't spoken to them as I either missed the call or in general don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. Thing is while I do have some credit card debt after the holidays, it's nothing substantial, and I've never missed a payment ever in my life. They never leave a voice mail, they've never emailed me, never sent anything in the mail and have never texted me??? I checked my credit karma and pulled my experian report and all my accounts are in good standing and I have nothing reported to collections. So it's probably nothing, right???? but it's enough to make me stupid anxious. I scream.

GODS I hope the system gets overhauled at some point.

Y’all I almost cried this morning. I went to check my credit score and since last year it’s gone up 60 points and I’m in pretty decent standing. I can apply for credit cards and loans if I want and I’m just so relieved rn.

Most of my debt that ended up going to collections were medical bills from years back before I got insurance. I have lupus and my senior year at uni I got really sick. My platelet count was so low that I could have easily died if I hadn’t gone to see the ER when I did. I had to be hospitalized for a week. I was lucky enough that I could get my ER costs down to less than 1K, but the other bills from specialists added up to thousands of dollars and I couldn’t keep up and it eventually went to collections and it’s taken me a few years to catch up but I paid off my last bill this past year and I feel like I can finally breathe a little easier now

If I do three hours of contract work every weekday in April and May I’ll have my credit card paid off.

i just want to go to a good grad school and get a good job and be happy and not in debt

money owed is really starting to shift. i can't wait until my job start letting me do overtime so i can clear it completely and still go on some lovely holidays this year
