//it occurred to me i've never seen a nice transparent png of n brio as he appears ingame in crash 2 so i found a cute frame in the 100% ending to make one from. use as you please
My take on Sonic.exe, Debug.
He’s from a pirated copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. This version had plenty of things wrong with it, but the main thing that stood out was it had Debug Mode on by default. After a virus infected the hard drive his game was stored on, his already messed up game got corrupted, and he gained sentience.
He now has the full power of debug mode and the code in the game itself as his to command, with the most important detail being that as long as he’s able to activate debug mode, he cannot die. Having all this power gave him a god complex; he’s invincible, so what does he have to fear anymore?
So after defeating Eggman, he sought out everything that his game had to offer, and lived in peace knowing that he had nothing to worry about anymore. He was finally able to just kick back, relax, and enjoy everything there was to offer in his little game world.
But…he soon got bored. Sonic 3 itself isn’t very big, remember, and as such his world reflected those limitations. He wanted more, and he knew he could have it. So after seeing everything he could see in his own game, he destroyed it. What’s the point of having it if he’s seen and done everything in it?
Now he travels from game world to game world, using that same freedom to see everything THEY had to offer. He presents himself as a sightseer, just trying to see and experience new things. He’ll stay in peace until he, again, has seen everything, then completely destroys it and moves on to the next game.
Despite the chaos and destruction he causes, he doesn’t see himself as a bad guy. He only wants to have a good time and see new things. Hhe just does the destruction thing because it’s kinda fun. And he knows that in the end, everything he lays to waste is just lines of code. He doesn’t quite see the irony of himself being lines of code as well.
He also still retains portions of Sonic’s personality, minus the compassion and empathy. For example, he still gets impatient when an entity he spawns doesn’t destroy things fast enough, and he’ll take a bit of extra time destroying a world of it has something he enjoys, like chili dogs or things that move fast. Deep down, the original Sonic is still in there.
If you read this far down, thanks! I’m new to this whole Tumblr thing, so idk how people usually format these sorta character lore things, but thanks for reading it nonetheless! As an added bonus here’s the sprite glitch that inspired this guy, found by using Debug Mode before the credits in Sonic 3
could we ever see the debug mode cheatcode from classic sonic games in the hangin out universe ?
The chaos emeralds allow for the unlimited creation of energy, and the warping of spacetime across worlds and realities, but can be volatile without a skilled or refined conduit at the helm.
The phantom ruby, at full power, can transform information and thought into temporary matter, but cannot make this matter permanent. It likewise cannot create energy, it can only use energy given to it to allow temporary matter to maintain its form for a while.

I think i’ve done this right
Adding yet another “Service Menu” to my collection!
These usage numbers are from the recent Mikado Stream posted on Twitter by the way. (Glad to see Bedman’s not on the bottom, lol, but Sol’s numbers XD)
