Written for the @berena-winter-event to the song December, 1963 (Oh What a Night) by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons!
3k words, rated E, no warnings
Summary: It's the time between Christmas and the new year, and Bernie is feeling lonely... She decides to take some time off and gets more than she had expected during her first time at a lesbian club.
Edit: now part of a series, 8k words, no warnings
Part 1 can still be read as a stand alone fic, though!
Audiobook (46 minutes) of my 6k G Holiday Mirandy fanfiction from last year!
The written version can be found here on Ao3.
Summary: After Paris, Andy tried to be the best assistant ever to make up for almost leaving Miranda, and Miranda began to act almost human around her. Though, of course, still nothing but professional – well, that is until she orders her to decorate the perfect Christmas tree...
How did I only just find out that there's a 2011 remake of Goncharov focusing on Katya's story with Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2048, The Gang of Oss) as Katya Goncharov??? I literally only found out by swiping through the action movies on the plane screen thing!
Matthias Schoenarts (Loft, The Old Guard), is also in it btw!!! Definitely worth watching it even though they deviate from the 1973 plot a couple times
People following me for mostly Berena, Mirandy, J/7 and other chill wlw content at the moment
PleAse know that I Do mean my current heading of being 'mosty offline'
This blog is usually chaos and I've been told that if you aren't as chronically online as me and/or don't follow many other blogs, following me can make your dash into just my reblogs xD so proceed with caution
Also you don't need to follow me just cause we're part of the same events. I won't follow back, I follow enough people already. If you want to know when I post more original content in a specific fandom, lmk and I'll put you on the tag list! No need to follow for that either
(of course if you really want to follow this mess feel free... As long as you also reblog stuff and your blog doesn't look empty/like a bot because then I Will probably block you more or less by accident with the current flood of spam bots)
A day late but hey I actually managed to write some more this week for the @berena-winter-event! Mostly confident that I'll finish in time, though it will probably be on the shorter side.
She had tried to ignore the warning signs, had gone on more than a few dates with him, and on Christmas day after he stayed over at her place and they made love in front of the fairy lights on her small tree, she had confessed her love to him.
Only to find him snogging an undergrad student she'd never met before at the faculty Christmas party on the day after.
Serena had left the party alone, in tears, and swearing off both men and Christmas forever and ever, and no-one was going to convince her of the contrary.
(it's prev Serena/Edward with, of course, endgame Berena... and I'm writing a college AU even though I didn't plan to, the muse wants what it wants!)
Bc frankly I found the Ao3 wrapped thing a bit annoying, I'm making a new tagging meme:
✨ 2022 fandom wrapped ✨
Less forced bragging, more actual year in review!
questions for easy copying: 1. Which ones were your main fandoms this year? (reading/writing/tumblr/...) 2. New fandoms you got into - which ones & how many 3. Your favourite fandom this year 4. How you interacted with fandom (lurking/creating/modding/reading/reblogging/commenting/forums/archives...) 5. Events you were part of/witnessed in your fandoms 6. Fandoms you wish were bigger 7. Fandoms you wish you didn't have to see around so much 8. Fandoms you think you'll get into in the new year 9. Anything else you want to say about your fandom year in review
Copy the question block once for the people who'll copy it from you, then copy it again to answer the ones you want to answer! You can also add your own questions to the list.
1. My main fandoms: I mostly wrote for Star Trek Discovery, which is very much just a fandom thing for me, I don't think I've watched a single episode this year! Milippa fandom for the win though.
Second place goes to Goncharov xD
My overall most active fandoms are probably Mirandy, The Old Guard and Warehouse 13, just because those fandoms are active in general with discord servers and events and lots of people writing new fic and then inspiring me to write stuff as well...
Won't write down All of my active-ish fandom because. Loads.
2. New fandoms I got into - which ones & how many: good fucking question. Not sure there are any actually new ones? Last year I got into loads of new fandoms but this year I mostly stuck to what I knew... Not counting Goncharov that is! But maybe I'm also forgetting something.
On tumblr just reblogging stuff I got into Knives Out/Glass Onion, but idk while I absolutely love the films they just don't feel very fandomy to me?
3. Fav fandom: Berena <3 I mean maybe I'm saying that now bc of the event going on this week and because my crush on Jemma Redgrave is back in full force after I had a dream(literally!!) that I was dating her... But no, honestly it's a great fandom, chill, no drama, not so big to turn chaotic but big enough to still have new content from time to time, and I like everyone I've met in the fandom!
4. How I interacted with fandom: I didn't write as much as before, but I still wrote a bunch... And I read a lot, and made an effort to comment more at least when I had the energy to, also the 'reread extra kudos' ones... Modded/helped mod some events like @discoveryfemslashfortnight with @startrekgeorgiouery @toboldlynerd @danisnotmyname @kaorimaxwell-blog @browneyedgenius and the Fanwork awards on @gunpowder-milfshake-discord @theoldguardfemslashdiscord @mirandyevents together with mainly @ongreenergrasses @charlottepriestly , I also mod discord servers, & was on discord a lot in general, and @purlturtle and I are trying to preserve ffnet W13 fics in case that site disappears :} also of course I reblog a shitton of stuff
5. Events I was part of/witnessed in my fandoms: the above ones and a lot of gift exchanges and big bangs and such! I wrote for the TOG reverse bang, but not any of the actual big bangs because I wasn't sure I'd manage... Still cool to see them all happening though!
6. Fandoms I wish were bigger: Gunpowder Milkshake, fuck that fandom feels half dead already and it doesn't deserve that!
7. Fandoms I wish I didn't have to see around so much: tRoP bloody hell it's just not LotR at all and it shouldn't try at this point
8. Fandoms I think I'll get into in the new year: I've been thinking about watching Wednesday and Witcher Blood Origin so maybe these, also I think I'm getting deeper into some more star trek thingies
9. Sth else I wanted to say: my fandom experience this year was great! And the Goncharov phenomena proves that you don't need to watch/read the canon material to understand what's going on in fandom - if you like a fandom, the fic and the people or whatever it is you enjoy there, go for it even if the source material isn't a genre you'd enjoy/you don't have the time to watch a new series etc! You might not find out what the source material is actually like - quite a bunch of fandoms have little to do with their source materials - but doesn't that make it even more obvious that you can be part of a fandom without knowing everything about it's canon? Gatekeeping fandom is bullshit, just have fun with it!
Tagging everyone I've already tagged above and @wrenaspun @unjapanologist @guardianrock @stupidsexycopshows @scarlet-heels @batnbreakfast @ktlsyrtis @sterenheart @mako-and-tails-and-stuff @cookie-sheet-toboggan bc I tagged you on the original ao3 wrapped as well, as always no pressure to do it if you don't want to!
If anyone else sees this and wants to do it, go for it!
