Deceit; Shape Shifting
Deceit, like all of Thomas's sides, was able to shape shift into a variety of different things, this including people.
Sure, having the privilege of being able to mold your physical appearance into something else was great, yes. However, this did not mean that it should be used to ones advantage, no?
But, of course, that was the exact type of thing that Deceit would do. Though, it was for different reasons than what you might suspect.
You see, Deceit being Deceit, was only seen as the 'Bad Guy', the 'Liar', and the all time favorite; the 'Slimy Snake', Not to mention any other names that were even remotely similar.
Yet, did this truly mean that Deceit was a bad person? No, no it did not. Sure, he tells the occasional lie, but doesn't everybody? Plus, hasn't the golden saying always been 'Don't judge a book by its cover'?
Everyone saw Deceit as what they thought of him as, not what he actually is. In fact, no one even took the time to really get to know him, and, in all honesty, that really stung.
It hurt Deceit to know that he wasn't liked and that he, most likely, never would be.
That's why Deceit uses his shape shifting abilities to his advantage; so that he can be liked, so that he can finally feel loved, even if it only for a mere couple of minutes.
Deceit adored the hugs that he got from the other sides when he pretended to be Patton. Deceit loved the congratulatory pats on the back he got from the other sides when he played the role of Roman. Deceit felt absolutely terrific when the other sides gave him small praises for something that he'd done while he held the presence of Logan. Deceit treasured the warm feeling that he felt inside whenever he was dressed as Virgil and got attention from the others, wether it be arguing with the voice of reason or creativity, or the caring feelings he'd get from the groups 'Dad'.
No matter the physical touch or the praise, as long as it was something positive, Deceit would always cherish it.
Deceit craved it all, and not in a bad way, but in a 'I'm really touch starved and sad' kind of way.
It was sad to see how little love the side got.
He always tried to be good, he really did. But, despite how much he tried, it was never enough.
Deceit only wished to be loved.
However, that would never happen. Deceit was the bad side, and that's all he's ever be seen as.
Love wasn't an option for someone like him. Love, in fact, wasn't even a possibility.
