For too long, we’ve let the aesthetic of the Black IT Girl be defined by women who prioritize proximity to power and protection of predators over the safety of their own community. If the Black Femme Urge is truly about feminine agency, intuition, and mental health, it can no longer include those who use their platforms to shield the inexcusable!
From the courtroom to the Epstein files, the receipts are in: these are no longer our blueprints.
Here is why we are officially denouncing the following EX-icons:
Nicki Minaj:
Support of Brother: Her brother was convicted in 2017 of predatory sexual assault against an 11-year-old girl and sentenced to 25 years to life. While she did not testify, she reportedly provided $100,000 for his bail in 2015 and has been criticized for her silence and alleged behind-the-scenes financial support during his legal battles.
Support of Husband: Petty is a REGISTERED sex offender for first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old at knifepoint. In 2021, Jennifer Hough filed a lawsuit alleging that THEY BOTH harassed and intimidated her into recanting her story.
Political Shift: Despite criticism of his policies, by 2025/2026, Nicki aligned herself with Donald Trump, appearing at summits, calling herself his “No. 1 fan,” and donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to his interests.
🎀
Naomi Campbell:
Epstein: Documents unsealed in 2024–2026 place Campbell in Jeffrey Epstein’s inner circle. Her name appears 100+ times in released DOJ files, including flight logs for The Lolita Express and guest lists for his residences. Virginia Giuffre testified to meeting Campbell at several of Epstein’s social gatherings. While Campbell denies knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, records show she remained in contact with him and Ghislaine Maxwell long after his 2008 conviction.
Violence: Beyond the files, Campbell has a documented history of physical assault, including four separate convictions for attacking employees and associates between 1998 and 2015.
The black femme urge isn’t about blind worship, it about being unhinged enough to stand up for yourself and what you believe in.

Text in a dark gray box over the image reads: '01. Announcing your actions isn't necessary We are here to support Palestinians and boost their voices. Do that. Remove yourself as much as possible from the things you are doing to support the strike. This includes things like only showing art / signs you've made without your presence in the photos, sharing posts without commenting on them yourself, etc.' and 'transfloridaresources.' /End ID]

Text in a dark gray box over the image reads: '02. Focus on what you CAN do. Nobody needs to hear the reasons why you can't do a specific thing. There are many ways to support the strike beyond not working / spending money. Just do ANYTHING. Do what you can and be silent about the rest.' and 'transfloridaresources.' /End ID]

Text in a dark gray box over the image reads: '03. Ask yourself 'Who is this for?' before speaking, especially to another person. Oftentimes, bringing up disabilities and other struggles is a way to alleviate guilt at 'not doing enough' and is seeking comfort and reassurance from the other person. Ask yourself if you've considered who the other person is and what they might be struggling with as well before assuming you're the only person with these problems. Strikes always require a sacrifice and the cause is greater than you. Don't burden others with coddling your guilt, especially anyone of BIPOC identities if you’re white.' and 'transfloridaresources.' /End ID]

Text in a dark gray box over the image reads: '04. Ask yourself 'What am I inspiring?' before speaking. When people comment with excuses for why they can't do something, it not only inspires others to use that same excuse, it distracts from the focus of the action. Suddenly we're not remembering Palestinians anymore, we're focused on 'this is too hard for me to do, actually, I'm just gonna sit this out.' Would you want someone to say that about helping you? Is that what you’d want people to be talking about instead of helping in any way they could realistically offer?' and 'transfloridaresources.' /End ID]

Text in a dark gray box over the image reads: '05. Don't double down. If someone, especially anyone of BIPOC identities & especially anyone Palestinian, tells you to stop talking & stop centering yourself - do that. Do not get louder about the reasons you are suffering for XYZ thing. This is about Palestine. They are suffering. We are here to support them. This is about them. Those without food, medical care, homes, families, friends, etc. You could be speaking to someone who has direct connections to this in some way. Respect that and learn to be quiet.' and 'transfloridaresources.' /End ID]

In both literature and art, the Gothic principally represents psychic disintegration, myths about the breakdown of identity and the decentering of the Self.

At the end of a dark earthen trail in the Peruvian Amazon stands a round structure with a thatched roof that appears to glow from within.
Among volunteers who take ayahuasca for studies, scientists have documented a rise in certain key traits that mirror those of experienced meditators. These changes include increases in openness, optimism, and a particularly powerful ability known as decentering.
Feilding describes decentering as "the ability to objectively observe one's thoughts and feelings without associating them with identity".

Tracee Ellis Ross and “embarrassing” boyfriends: How 2025 became the year of “decentering men”
I can’t tell you the exact moment every other woman on my TikTok feed decided they were “decentering men,” but I’ve never heard the phrase uttered more than this past year. The term was originally coined in 2019 by content creator and author Charlie Taylor in her book Decentering Men: How to Decenter Men, but it seems to have caught on in 2025. The term has inspired a lot of content on TikTok —…
