Right lmao. She was also confused with just the whole aesthetic. Like, “why do they have a car and cell phones but fight with swords?” like I don’t know it’s Final Fantasy.
DSOD: The Internet Bully Kudaragi is a Familiar Face
So everyone's been excited about DSOD and freaking out over Aigami Diva, but I'm surprise no one has freaked out over that internet video bully, Kudaragi. Why? Because we've seen him before.
Here's his image. Kudaragi is large with skinny legs, he's wearing a star on his shirt and large shoes, but no he's not from Steven universe, he's actually from the comic's beginning.
In fact, he's this guy. This is a virtual pet (like tamagotchi or digimon) from a game that was the focus of a conflict in volume 3 of the manga and an episode of season zero. His name is Devil Master, although they don't say it in the manga. Look at their outfits: they're almost identical except that one is human!
This virtual pet actually ate other pets in order to make himself stronger. No wonder our new bully is so interested in internet fame through using other people! And why he has such creepy lines.
"But Dedre", you might say, "if this is a virtual pet, couldn't this character be the pet's owner?" Well I'm glad you asked. Though similar, Devil Master and his owner Kujirada from the comic do look like each other, but Kudaragi much more closely resembles Devil Master in both appearance and attitude.
Additionally, Kujirada was not that bad of guy: he was stuck-up, sure, but he was actually being controlled by the Devil Master for the worst part of the chapter, and after Yugi's pet defeated his he returned to normal. So no, I don't see Kujirada doing what Kudaragi does in DSOD.
And this is not the only character in this group who looks familiar! The guy on the far left should be obvious (HINT: he looks just like Yami Marik but short).
The other three I'm not sure about, though they do look familiar. If anyone else knows who these designs might harken to, please add it to this post!
Anyway it's good to see old enemies again so many years later in a new light! Looks like the story of yugioh really had come full circle! And I can't wait to see DSOD!!! :3

Mm… Considering Fai is emotionally distant, and Ryou tends to be withdrawn too, I’m not sure if their relations would really go far. It might even become hard for them to get along after a certain point. As much as Ryou gets withdrawn from people, he actually wishes to be close to them, but it seems Fai would push him away if he tries to? And after that Ryou would of course step back and feel awkward around him.
With Bilbo, just I think it’d be easier to stay on friendly terms with him. I could see Ryou being interested in Bilbo’s adventures and I mean he wrote books about it so possibly they could have some good talks or something.

I want to call shenanigans for the "Millenium Tome" thing because the Egyptians invented paper and mostly used scrolls, while that is a full-paged leather-bound book. Unless it's written on animal hides or something? And who wrote it indeed? What language?!? and I have a question concerning spoilers that idk if I can ask yet *cough*ZORK*cough*
I suppose it could have been written on hide... We never see it open so it’s hard to tell. Then again, it is a magical book so it could have been magicked up like the book that Mana summons in an earlier episode.
You can go ahead and ask the question if you want! This is my first time watching the Japanese version, but I’ve actually already seen the whole show before through the dub so I know what will happen. As far as the dub goes anyway, there will probably be more things that are different in the sub. ^^;
The Church of Bakura’s Door
OK so funny story from when I was a preteen that I just remembered.
Was anyone here ever on the Yugioh: Abridged site forum? Back in the day when it was really big?
WELL, one thread was called the Church of Bakura, where they worshiped his haircut (expounded upon from an early series joke). I hung out around the forum because it was funny. They were particularly proud of their door, which was like black with spikes and fire or something like that.
Anyway, at one point they decided to kidnap all the bishies (which meant Bakura and Marik, though I suggested Odion because he needs more love). They decided to keep them in cages so that they could *cough* “extract sexual favors” *cough* from them.
Being young, I didn’t understand the full implications at the time, but keeping my favorite characters trapped in cages didn’t sit well with me (especially with all they’d already been through). So I rode in on horseback, breaking down the door, pulled a “COME WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!!”, and busted them all out of there!!!
They were very upset that I’d broken their door and demanded that I replace it. I said that since they worshiped a thief, they should just steal a new one.
