hydra and hercules are exes

they briefly dated after hercules and megara broke up (hydra was his rebound) and their relationship turned sour very quickly once hydra found out WHY hercules broke up with megara/what he did to her. hydra and megara become friends because of this and hydra is one of the very few people who know her whereabouts and helps her get on her feet again. hydra also starts making his case against hercules, which further spoils anything they had between them

hercules meets deeandra and they're terribly perfect for one another

hercules also tries to kill hydra- for his artifact and to keep him quiet about what he's doing to monsters and their artifacts

hydra is determined to bring him down
