Great podcast I missed at the time in case you did, too.
When Syril saved Dedra from the crowd, his face wasn’t what a man who loves a woman looks like. It wasn’t concerned for her well being, it wasn’t comforting, it wasn’t sad. It was thrilled. He didn’t give a fuck she was traumatized. All he cared about was he just did a “good” thing, something she’ll never be able to forget, something that she now owes him for. And that debt—whether it’s professional debt like a job in the Empire or a emotional debt and she now views him with fonder eyes because he just saved her life; you can’t not feel something towards a person after they do that—is all he cares about. He doesn’t love Dedra. He loves power, and he wants to possess the woman more powerful than him so he in return can possess that power. But his head is so far up his own ass, he just thinks that’s what love is.
Which is so accurate for the type of person Syril symbolizes: the men who don’t view women as people but possessions—trophies. He’s a pathetic little nazi dweeb who doesn’t really amount to anything, who is nothing, but desperately wants to feel like he’s something, like he’s someone, that he’s not just some loser living at his mom’s house obsessing over a fascist regime that couldn’t give less a fuck about him but symbolizes everything he wants to be. Powerful no matter what, even if it means crushing—slaughtering—innocents to get there.
I love Andor and how thoughtfully and meticulously each character was crafted. Best Star Wars show—no, just the best show period I’ve seen in years.

like a disney princess Agito attracts a multitude of animals, even without doing much. needless to say that is starting to annoy Toola quite a bit
