She wasn't really sure why she was here. She knew she shouldn't have come. This was stupid, reckless, dangerous. And yet, here she was, aboard the Jolly Roger, and ready to call for a truce.
"My, my, my," his voice made her spin around quickly. Killian Jones stood against the door frame, smirking at her. "Baby Swan has certainly strayed far from home, hasn't she?"
"Hook," she started.
But he cut her off. "Tell me, love, does your precious, sword friendly princely father know you're here?" That had her hesitate for a moment. He seemed to be able to read her expression, and laughed once. "Does anyone know you're here?"
"No," she said quietly. She hadn't told anyone, because if she had, they would have either stopped her or demanded to come with her. And honestly, she thought she would be able to appeal to Hook better on her own.
He pulled out a small gun and pointed it at her, a cold smirk on his face. "So what's to stop me from doing away with you now? I'm sure the fishes would appreciate the meal, and frankly, I'm sure Cora would reward me handsomely perhaps with the crocodile's head."
"Cora needs to be stopped," Emma said, her eyes not leaving his. He was bluffing. He wouldn't shoot her. She wasn't sure how she knew that, but she did. After all, it was just her life depending on it right now. "But -- so does Rumplestiltskin."
"Finally see the monster behind the pretty face?" Hook raised an eyebrow.
"He is after Henry," she said finally.
"Ah, I see," an understanding expression came across his face. He lowered his gun and stepped towards her, his face just inches from hers. "And now you've come to me."
"You offered an alliance before," she reminded him.
"Once upon a time, yes I did, and how did you repay me, Emma Swan?" he said, the hurt clearly evident in his voice. "You tied me up, and left me to rot. You betrayed me. You left me behind.Only Cora was there. And now you want me to betray her for you? For these people who would all sooner stab me in the back than befriend me?"
She stepped back, and looked at him sadly. "I'm sorry for what I did back there. I did what I had to to protect my son. Just as I need to do now. If you don't want to help, that's fine. Just stay out of her way then."
He said nothing as she walked to the small door. She paused with her hand on the knob and looked back at him. "And you're wrong, there is one person in this town who wouldn't betray you. She already made that mistake once, when she thought she needed to shut her heart up. But now, she's listening to it a bit more, and she thinks that maybe, if you let her, if you show her you can be good, maybe she can trust you.." She smiled slightly before leaving him alone.
