How would the RO's react (deep in the relationship) to the detective tracing the words "I love you" on their skin?

Deep romance? Hmmm...

Adam/Ava: I don't think A would say anything, they'd just be smiling and feeling very giddy (For some reason, I'm imagining A laying on their chest in bed and the MC tracing their fingertips over their back for this moment)

Nate/Nat: N would totally draw the MC into an embrace, kissing them and whispering 'I love you' in different languages against their skin.

Farah/Felix: F would totally turn it into a fun game of taking turns to write sweet, romantic things...probably writing a whole paragraph and saying it's hard to keep how much they feel for the MC to just a few words.

Mason/Morgan: Probably wouldn't guess what it said as they'd be too enraptured by the lovely feeling of having of someone tracing across their skin without it burning or stinging.

What’s your take on marriage?? 👀

N: I quite like the idea of intertwining two lives in such a way, in front of closest and dearest friends and family to witness the commitment. But I am just as happy expressing such a deep commitment in other ways.

F: *looks away to compose themself before turning back with a bright smile* It would be everything. It doesn’t have to be marriage, but to promise to choose one another forever? I can only hope you want that someday as much as I do.

M: *gives you a long, contemplative look, grey eyes swirling with confusion before shrugging* Don’t think we need it. Don’t think it changes anything. You’re it for me, sweetheart/handsome, so it’s up to you.

A: A slip of paper binding us to a human institution does not appeal to me. *their gaze softens* I am already wholly yours forever.

stealing this question from one of the bodycountgame's asks, but how often would the ROs say I love you deep in the romance?

Okay, this question made me feel things I was not ready for. Thanks for sending it in! 💕

Simon/Simone: Not very often on their own. Will say it first when they feel loved, almost as a thank you. Like they can’t hold in how incredibly grateful they are that the other person exists and they’re begging them to always be there. It’s a big deal feeling for them.

Bea/Beau: They’re hesitant to say it at first and it’s incredibly scary for them. But once it’s out there, they’ll say it constantly and seemingly out of nowhere. It’s often caused by something small that means a lot to them.

Jeremy: Dramatically, casually, and everywhere in between. Sometimes just to get a reaction out of them. Always with a smile, even if it’s a little bittersweet. Whenever it pops into his head.

Natasha: Only in the quiet, intimate moments. Saying it isn’t a conscious decision for her, but more the type of thing that’s whispered when she can’t stop it from spilling out.

Elliot: When he thinks they need to hear it or when he feels afraid. With a hand on their face. It’s more likely for it to show through in his expression than for him to say it out loud.

Life as we know it is over.

Okay, that might be a little over dramatic, but you’re having a seriously bad day. Everything that could’ve gone wrong, did. And now, you’re laying in a dark room, blasting some sad song at full volume.

There’s a knock at the door, but you only groan in response and pull your quilt further up over your head.

Then, the door slams open and heavy footfalls cross the room.

They pause for a moment and then a sudden light flows into the room, Elliot standing next to the now curtainless window. A few more steps and the music snaps off.

“What are you doing?” he asks.

You peek out from the blankets to find he has wandered over to the edge of your bed, his arms crossed as he looks down at you with an entertained tilt to his lips.

“I’m in distress,” you say back, rolling onto your side to get away from the light streaming through the window.

He lets out amused snort as he settles onto the mattress beside you. “So you felt like bothering everybody in hearing distance?”

You press your face further into the pillow as your only response.

After a moment of silence, Elliot sighs and loops an arm over your waist, tugging you toward him.

“You’ll be fine,” he murmurs into your hair.

“I’m sad,” you mumble back.

He lets out a low chuckle that shakes the both of you. “Yeah, I got that.”

After awhile, you feel Elliot shift behind you as he moves to sit up.

“Can you stay for a minute?” you ask.

He nods, tightening his grip around your torso instead.

The two of you lay there in silence, the sound of your breathing the only thing filling up the quiet room.

“Thanks,” you say.

A soft laugh shakes his chest. “Anytime.”

How would the ROs react if MC suddenly sit on their lap in late romance then? All I can think of is Natasha just pushing the MC off her lap with full force.

Thanks for the ask! Natasha might have done that earlier on in the romance (original ask here). But later on...

Simon/Simone: Would turn to them with a grin and ask them what they think they’re doing.

Bea/Beau: A little flustered but mostly pretty pleased.

Jeremy: Happily puts both arms around them. Would have to be convinced to let go later.

Natasha: Complains but does nothing to actually stop them.

Elliot: Puts an arm around them but otherwise says nothing.

ahhhhh can we hear about late romance Simon/e please? 👀👀👀

Simon/Simone in late romance has a lot more honest and heartfelt moments. They still joke around a lot, but they're a bit more serious at the important times than earlier on. The MC is their partner in crime, their biggest confidant, the only person they're really themselves with at the end of the day. It all just feels very right, very natural, almost like they can't stop it from happening. Like it was always inevitable for them.

Their feelings are slower to build and late romance S is still not overly romantic, but the MC means the world to them. They're not going to go on about how in love they are, but in the quiet moments they'll make it very obvious. They would be lost without the MC at that point and they're incredibly grateful to have them around.

Elliot becomes a very supportive partner in the later stages of the romance. He’s not the most open or declare-his-love-for-you type, but he is silently just very there for the MC. Ready to take on anything with them and believes that they could do anything together. It's just an overwhelming amount of trust, really.

He's not the most romantic or someone who even talks about how he feels very often, but he does care and he shows that in other ways. But it's a very gradual build to that late romance point, which is why he's all What is happening earlier on when you try to flirt.

Remember that in game so far: 1) The MC literally met him a couple hours ago 2) He was recently punched in the face by at least one initiate 3) He was mad about having to miss [redacted]

Is he a bit grumpy in general? Yes, but the MC hasn't had time to see any other side of him either
