To eat replicated food or not to eat replicated food, that is the question.
And it’s actually a hard one, because opportunities to eat non-replicated food are limited on DS9 Station, so you know that you’ll be back to replicated food by the next meal and it’ll taste all wrong.
I’ve been thinking about this, and I do think that Garak may have known about Julian’s genetic enhancements, specifically because of this line: GARAK: I’m really not interested, Doctor. Ever since it’s become public knowledge that you’re genetically engineered, you’ve used every opportunity to show off. It sounds like there could be an implication that Garak was privy to this fact prior to Julian’s exposure. Thoughts?
Do you think Julian and Garak would both like Batman? I mean I am certain that Julian would, but I wonder if Garak would enjoy it. Which version would he appreciate most? Maybe the Frank Miller/Dark Knight series. Which version would Julian most enjoy? Or maybe he loves the whole franchise, including the campy Adam West version.
Although maybe Julian just found out about “the incident with the Romulans” on his own. Maybe Garak didn’t tell him about it. All we know is that, according to A Stitch In Time, Julian had knowledge of it.

do they have open discussions about these things or do they just leave little trails of breadcrumbs and puzzle pieces for each other? they both obviously love secrets...
now I'm not so sure Tain knew, but I do enjoy this theory that Garak wasn't aware. I think he was aware that Julian was different and was hiding some secret of his own, though. And this is what I love about sfumatosoup's lines about Julian hiding his true level of intelligence--because it's absolutely true and Garak was able to deduce this much, but he hadn't discovered the full extent of or the reason for his secrecy. As well, I agree that Garak would have been very impressed by Julian and fallen even harder for him.
