Padnoongo (Thai: ปาท่องโก๋) is a deep-fried dough stick commonly eaten in Thailand. It’s one of the most popular street food in Thailand that’s often sold in the morning with soy milk (Thai: น้ำเต้าหู้) for breakfast.
Padnoongo is occasionally dipped into sweetened condensed milk or Thai pandan custard (Thai: สังขยาใบเตย). It can also added as an accompaniment for rice congee (Thai: โจ๊ก).
In China, it is called Youtiao. Youtiao may be known elsewhere as Chinese doughnut, Chinese cruller, Chinese fried churro, Chinese breadstick, Chinese oil stick, and fried breadstick. In Philippines, it is called Shakoy or Bicho/Bicho-Bicho. In Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, it is called Cakwe, Cakoi, You Char Kway, Kueh, Kuay.
