Who's got good eyesight then? This is a section of old growth pine from the roof of an Oxford college building, built in 1911. I've sanded it to 360 grit and got busy with a magnifying glass and a pin in an endeavour to count the growth rings, of which I believe there are at least 360 (surely a coincidence) in just 10cm (4") of timber!! In terms of growth rings this might be the oldest sample in my collection. It was rescued by the lovely people @oxfordwoodrecycling . . . . . #lovewood #woodgeek #woodanatomy #smallthingsmakemehappy #deepinwood #oldgrowth #pine #reclaimedtimber #savedfromchipping #oxfordwoodrecycling https://www.instagram.com/p/B4VdX5egF5h/?igshid=1ejam2o0t8yyg
